I toss the Daniel Defense mags that came with the guns I've ordered from them into my range bag since I'm not upset if I ever break them. I've never had any issues with them except for the times I've actually tried to load 32 rounds into them. They do fit 32 rounds like they claim, but that's when they'll start double feeding. I'd never pay $24 a pop for them since there's always deals to be found on pmags. Only other mags I ever see for sale near me are those Amend2 mags and others I shoot with have told me they suck ass so I've never bought any.

My gun-related complaint is that, you hype yourself up for something. You google bing it, you watch videos, you talk to people, etc.
You look up "problems with X" and such, whether it's a gun or caliber and you don't find anything not user-error. Then you get it. You start looking up accessories and ammunition... and there's nothing, or it sucks. You start digging deeper, and it turns out everything about it sucks. You realize the other suckers just put up with it and are simply "okay" with it.

And then you move to the next thing...
I guess this is why I only tend to buy boring stuff known to function well. Glocks for handguns. I have a couple Geissele Super Duty ARs, and couple ARs I built with components from companies known to reliably produce quality parts. I have a few "just for fun" guns. An Glock mag AR-9, a Walther PDP, and a Beretta 92FS Inox. Hell, the 92FS and even the PDP at this point are a known quality, despite just being things I have for fun.

I'm going to pick up the Ruger/Magpul RXM soon, to test that out for myself. I'd like to build a short suppressed .300 BLK AR, but I don't have the time or money for a project like that right now.

Let me know how it goes. Double points if you put a dot and light on it and let me know how it balances.

Considering picking one of these up for CCW. I like how you can change out the grips. I carry a full-size gun so it would be neat to be able to switch grips depending on the weather and associated clothing.

the "old-timey cowboy guns" were still new.

Well, they weren't exactly "new". They were considered older, but many were still in production at that time. However, you were already seeing double-action revolvers with swing-out cylinders in common use, and even the earlier semi-autos were in common use like the Mauser C96, Luger P.08, and M1911, plus pistols like the Colt Hammerless, and even long guns like the Browning Auto 5, Winchester 1910, and Remington Model 8. Hell, the Browning Automatic Rifle came out in 1918.

So that Rossi showed up today along with the lower for the AR I just finished assembling. In the hand, it's exactly as hilarious as it is on paper. The trigger is surprisingly good, with fairly average weight, but a nice clean break - kinda expected from a single-action gun. Also, the ejector is comically overpowered and yeeted the .45 snap cap I was using into the ceiling when I broke the action open.

As for the AR, it's pretty "nice-basic" stuff - nothing particularly Gucci about it, but it's exactly the sort of AR I like to shoot so that's good enough for me. I forget who was asking about TriggerTech trigger, but I can say that at least while dry-firing it, it's really fucking nice. 1000003731.webp

Putting out bottom barrel ARs is a game of scale and I doubt hi-point can compete with PSA in that game. Even if they can push it down to the same price point as PSA or Anderson it will be at the cost of what little qc still exists.
if they came out with a "Hi Point Problem Solver" ar-15 that was some kind of blowback pistol caliber carbine (or pistol, et c) that might sell on meme value alone.

Out of curiosity, how much does a 16ga slamfire-capable Ithaca 37 go for? I inherited this one from my grandfather, not planning on selling it but I'd like to know if it's worth maybe cleaning it up. It's in decent shape for the most part, the furniture is rather "dull" though.

Maybe $350 - $500. If you need an exact value, I'll run it from my Blue Book of Gun Values. It's all market and geographic area driven in any case.

New setup. Echelon 4.0c with a vortex defender ST green dot. Absolute blast to shoot.
Please don't buy a tiny pocket pistol as your first gun.
They typically are not fun to shoot.
Look for something about the SIZE of a glork 19 or 48.
22lr is a great caliber to start with though!
Ruger 22/45 or Browning Buckmark make for excellent first pistols IMO.
Agreed 100%. Glock 19 sized shit is the best intersection of concealability, shootability, and comfort. If you're gonna go for a pocket size I recommend the bodyguard 2.0 in 380, which is going to be my next purchase.

Edit: Didn't wanna double post but I see people inquiring about the RxM. Would 100% recommend now that I've owned mine for a while and it's getting a flux chassis and different size grip modules.
