So remember when I gushed about that time I had a master gun smith run me through my parts AR for my dad? Good Bday gift.

Smith was a really good guy really cool, Pops said for Xmas he'll get me another "build night" Well one thing he really talked up was AR10s.

Right now I have AR10 in about 700 on PSA's site... I want to do it I know black friday is coming up and probably can get it for less. I have a 308 can already. I have a polished trigger for an AR handy and hammer (dunno off hand if they fit for 10s).

One thing is me not sure 16 or 20... I got nice longer range guns so I'm leaning at 16 but 16" 308 is just... a lot. In my state I can't hunt with a semi.

So this gun is mostly to work on an AR be cool and stuff. I ruled out a meme like a 7".

Now since I'm actually less retarded than you assume, I was thinking that 700ish build just get it together and I'll know how to fit part by part to upgrade, if I even need to.

Lastly ya'll see Ian do the 006 AR build? charging handle on top neat.

Ok second lastly, I came into a few dollary doos, and while it's winter so I'm carrying my G20 mostly, time isn't a thing, what would you do for a makarov? To make it a better carry, hammer and trigger polished, Cerekote slide... do I want sights? I just have money burning hole in my pocket, woe is me.

posted this elsewhere by mistake, but copied here for organization:

friendly reminder for those taking game for turkey day or xmas: CLP or FP10 tends to work quite well in freezing temperatures. rem oil works great for warmer climates or for water exposure, but not when you have frost everywhere.

I forget what these are but they take a glock or 1911 lower, I would be interesting in a DIY version but I think they were like 500$ without a threaded barrel and shit.
Those are MechTech carbine conversion kits (and they can also take Springfield XD lowers). I've had my eye on them for a while, my plan was to get a Glock 26 and mate that to a MechTech so I can get a compact PCC that can accept any double stack Glock mag (26 mags and bigger). Granted it might be a little more expensive than a Ruger PCC but I've had trigger time on Glocks, not so much with the Ruger.

Now since Glock is about to phase out their old models because of niggers with switches, and because FOMO, I took the plunge and got myself a Glock 26. Fits the hand well and should shoot smooth so I'm good to go.

It and the Multicam obsession really ruins the charm of some of the smaller NATO frens. British DPM and the AUG are some of the most aesthetic military pieces of kit out there IMO. I like the aesthetics of the L85 even if the hive mind likes to shit on it.
M81 Woodland was peak American camouflage aesthetics, and having separate temperate patterns was the right play all along with its equally chad cousins 6 and 3 color Desert.

The biggest sin of Multicam is that it is as fugly as it is functional. If we're going back to one service uniform for all, may as well bring back solid OD, as that really does tend to work for everything,

So in exactly one case it was a nigger nogging, but the fact that we're even at a place where the gun could be credibly scapegoated for it is still a problem.

We still have a P320 ON VIDEO blowing a hole into somebodies upper thigh, among others.
It's like the cars where they accelerate at random. There's documentation, it's been acknowledged but they're still on the road and people still swear by them because theirs haven't done it yet.

Hello my friends. A while back I made a post about asking what gun I should first buy, and I was looking at shotguns. I ended up with a really good deal on a Mossberg Maverick 88 that came with both a 18.5 inch barrel and a 28 inch barrel for hunting and such. Now I come to you asking the same question but for a different firearm. I heard about the recent kerfuffle with Glock and apparently they’re getting rid of all their stock for some reason? I don’t know what those Austrians are up to but what I do know is that I want to buy a Glock before they are lost to time. That said, I was looking at some police trade-ins on Guns.com and saw ome that really caught my eye, a used G17 Gen4 with Night Sights in very good condition. Would you all say this is a good choice or should I find something else to purchase?

Glocks in general are a very safe purchase.
Even with the new models coming parts availability will always be there.
Especially when you take into account pretty much all the clones are based on gen 2/3/4 guns.
You can build a "Glock" and not have a single factory Glock part in it.
Anyway, try and shoot it first because the most common complaint people seem to have about them is how they feel in your hand.

If you get scalped because you panic buy a Glock you are a certified retard. It may be THE most prolific firearm in the United States.

I would go out and see what feels to hold if you can. I personally like G4 Glocks because they feel good in the hand, but have the ergo improvements I want over the G3 versions. The G5 don't feel as good in my hand. Even better if you can go out and shoot it like @DocAwe says. If you have an indoor range with gun rentals, Id spend the $20-50 on rental fees to actually fire the guns you're thinking about buying. You may find you prefer another pistol.

If you have to buy sight unseen and you have no strong preferences in what you're looking for, there's nothing inherently wrong with Glocks. Its the default pistol for a reason.

I wouldn't spend over $450 on a used Glock - I've been window shopping for a G17 or G19 to put in the silly B&T carbine kit thing with a FRT but I just haven't come across any BUY NOW deals and I'm in no hurry.

used glock 17s gen 3-5 are about ~350, I like used because the trigger is noticeably better when worn in.
are you near a store like https://www.gtdist.com/ ? they have a cool Tulsa PD model too so you LARP as a cop.
(gtdist is a little cheaper than guns.com it seems, though they are out of Gen4s online, may have some in store)

I am also salivating for this RXM (glock 19gen3) with a enclosed sight.

This should be available pretty much everywhere and is a pretty extreme value prop. You can swap out for a different grip if you want a new color or size. you could even try to solder your grip if you wanted to get crafty. I am currently trying to get multiple nogunz to buy this because in my opinion this is a great option.

Glocks are a good choice, but if you want to ball you could get a Gucci gun like Staccato. I would say you should only go that route if you only every plan on buying ONE gun and you have stupid money to spend on it.

Like others have mentioned there are a trillion glocks, I wouldn't worry about them going away, especially if you don't mind them used.

Very true on all points. Hmm maybe my local gun store/range has a few I could try. I don’t know the owner typically rents firearms for people to try, but since he and I have a personal connection through archery, I’m sure he’ll say yes. Thanks for your reply though I really appreciate it

Considering the Glock in question is a police trade in, I doubt I will get scalped. Plus I bought the shotgun from them and I didn’t get scalped then but who knows. Anyway yeah it’s definitely under 450 don’t worry about that, before fees it’s like 390 and after about 430 or something like that. Not ideal but better than a grand for it. As I said with the other guy I will definitely see if my local range owner will let me have a test run if he has any Glock 17 Gen4s in stock. Otherwise I guess I will just have to go in blind lel. Anyway thanks also for your reply I really appreciate it too

Hard to go wrong with a 17 or 19

Forgot to mention you can get blue label (cop) pricing on glocks if you join the GSSF (glock shooting sports federation)
here are the prices for reference!

IIRC you get two "coupons" the first year, and one each year after.
Worth considering, but I personally like the used option more!

Or go for something a bit more modern like Ranger Green, which is my favorite color for tactical gear and clothing. I've got a pair of Kitanica pants and a jacket in RG and love them. I forget which jacket I have, but it's the one with the tall collar and buckles going down the front.
