To be fair the original LA85 was unreliable so if this guy creates a Tommy Gun-tier version of it, its a pretty accurate clone.

On social media they're touting "250 rounds no failures" Not trying to be a hating ass bitch but like come on now... If you're explicitly marketing to "investors" like they've done its already over

Think about the average gun owner who can afford to drop that kind of money on a rifle. Do you think they show up regularly to the range and shoot more than 250 rounds at a time with a single rifle?

My guess is no and the clientele for this have a lot of safe queens and want another for their harem.

It would be hilarious if it were a complete US legal clone and you need to order the EM85A2 for ensured reliability. To be fair to the L85 there's so many opinionated voices who'll tell you it's a shitbox despite never even seeing one IRL.

Most I’ve seen is a guy with a SCAR-L show up once or twice at 2 gun just for the attention he gets from it. So some guy who’s REALLY into larping as the British Military, for whatever odd reason, may but arguing 250 rounds for an extremely niche firearm interest is subpar to say the least.

teehee hee Eru-chan looks so kawaii next to Funko-chan! It’s just like Upotte desu ne!!! I would never flip Eru-chan as an investment... I'll keep her locked away in my safe forever!!1!!1
Or it’ll be this guy. I hate finding a gun guy on Twitter, scroll his timeline a bit, and he’s obsessed with that anime girl gun game where the guns are anime girls.

Yes precisely. No sire, you are not based. You are a gacha playing gaijin and goy. Your puny Caucasoid cranium was tricked into gambling by chinese cartoon women

Experimental Russian SPU belt feed conversion device for RPK-74 and derivatives. I would be very interested in seeing Popneker or better yet Ian take a look at one of these If he can ever go to Russia again and the museum people will speak with him
There used to be a video on YouTube of an American guy with a homemade copy. But I can't find it

They have some interesting round nose projectiles i've been looking at. I did end up buying a box of them just to see. I like a good round nose. so we'll see i suppose.

People in my neck of the woods always bought Eley .22LR and .22 Short when they wanted super accurate cartridges. I actually found a box of them in my aunts old house. had to have been 40 year old but they still fired even after sitting in a old musty mold and damp cabin.
Sorry I couldn't give you more information. I can tell you that Lapua is definitely high quality, luxury ammo, but in my observations, unless a 5% improvement is worth a 50-400% increase in price ("bulk" Lapua .22lr is 40 cpr), then it isn't worth it. If I was you, I would go with something more economical that will do basically the same job.

I like Eley. It also doesn't justify the price, but I see their "lower" tier .22lr quite commonly and it's great for semi autos if you can't find the cheaper CCI mini mag LRN.

My buddy has 20k into his competition gun. He drags it through mud and dirt, has dropped it during drills, and oftentimes uses the scope as a carry handle. His explanation is that he spent all the money to use it, and if it breaks from use then it was a piece of shit anyways. Frankly, I respect his stance, as I am not a collector minded man, and I buy things to use them, not have them sit in a box or hang on a wall.

This is my attitude towards my Colt's. I carry the python often and shoot the shit out of it. once i get my holster in for the anaconda it will get the same treatment.

I share the sentiment as well, it's a part of why he is my friend. We both "collect" interesting and neat stuff, him moreso than me because he makes more money and has much lower living expenses, but we both expect our stuff to work and function, not just look neat. I firmly believe that there is no need to choose between form and function if you are willing to spend more money.

Does anyone have a Riflespeed gas system? I'm deciding what length to go with on my Lima6 build, it seems the RS7548 might give me a little bit more flexability down the road but sticks out a lot. It also might not allow me to move down to a 18 if I decide to do that. (currently have a 20" Rifle length that I plan on using)

It all depends on what length handguard you have. The longer the handgaurd, the more it'll need to stick out.

He's currently taking pre-orders at $4500-7000 depending on the model with a 50% deposit. He's still having catastrophic bolt failures as of October. He blames these failures on the design itself so he intends to improve the design to make it last longer. Make of that what you will

Interesting, I heard they started pre-orders not long after SHOT Show despite stating they wouldn't or something, it seems like Ian's critique was dead on.

On one hand, I really do want to see this project [or one like it] happen and succeed, on the other hand, the guy behind specifically this is kind of a fag.

I personally don't understand the appeal of most Russian weapons. It could be my experience years back building semi-auto AKs has soured my view of Russian weapons and made me biased, but I just don't really get it. Like, I can see the appeal of the Pecheneg and bullpup PKM, the SVU, the AN-94, and some of the Russian SMGs. And some of their latest stuff is kind of interesting, especially the ones where they've tried to move away from just iterating on old Soviet designs. But most of their other individual weapons just aren't interesting to me, especially Kalashnikov rifles and Makarov pistols, and I just can't feature why so many people go ga-ga over them. I'd much rather have Western weapons.

I was obsessed with Russian guns when I was younger.
They were cheap to buy, cheap to shoot, and worked.
After I got my first AR-15 I realized how crude the AK really is.
Don't get me wrong, Kalashnikov was a genius, it's just one next to the other it's obvious which one is better.
The jews make the best AK currently on the market IMO.
