Got a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow heading my way. What spare parts to stock up on? Just trigger springs and slidestops?
Get at least one spare of everything; springs, FCG components & other wear parts (extractors/etc), grips, etc.

I've been trying to make it a habit for anything new/modern, as a hedge against future parts breakage/loss & shortages (even 30yrs down the line).

I dunno about the SP-01, but I had to replace the firing pin retainer/roll pin (the pin on the rear slide serrations) on my 75B after dry-firing it too much. It'll get beat up and not fire.

You can order replacements from CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works. I got the hollow ones, because allegedly the solid ones can beat up and mushroom the firing pin itself.

And you can replace these with a punch kit and hammer, using a roll of duct tape as a bench block.

I'm severely autistic about this, because my 75B is my baby. Nowadays, whenever I dry-fire practice with it, I stick a rubber O-ring between the hammer and the firing pin.

Sounds like a good idea, I'll end up getting extra spares for everything else too. A couple of firing pin retaining pins are a must, from the sound of it.

Ordered the Zendl adjustable rear sights and a taller fiber optic front sight already. Still considering getting G10 frag grips, although the stock rubber isn't bad.

Out of stock, but try looking for one of these: CZ-75 Spare Parts Kit.

My Enrique Pena mid-tech balisong arrived a couple days ago and I absolutely love it. The blade is CMP 154 steel, the handles are titanium with micarta grip scales. They ride on ceramic bearings that ride against stainless washers to avoid wear on the frame. Enrique hand grinds the blades himself and assembles them, and it's a scary sharp blade. All the screws and pins are titanium. Need to get a good training bali so I can practice flipping without risking getting my digits amputated. I also want to get a nice leather pocket slip to carry it in. I have a feeling this won't be my last balisong.

Here it is with some of my EDC kit.

You EDC as a Ninja Turtle?

Nah. I'm a big fan of the Monster Hunter International books. Knew the author when he co-owned a gun shop I used to frequent. The guy who made the holster and mag carrier for my 1911 is a friend of the author and used to work at the gun shop, so when I contacted him about making my rig I asked him to make it MHI themed: green and black with a Team Happy Face tooling stamp.

What's the cleaver-looking knife, a Medford?

What 1911 is it that you are carrying? Looks like a commander size with a rail.

I wish I still had my Spyderco Harpy.

I just carry a G43x MOS, spare mag, and a Gerber Para I've had about a decade. I keep a GSW kit in my car though. I think a lot of people get carried away with the whole EDC thing, like they're going to find themselves in a MacGuyver episode. One of the retard writers at The Truth About Guns claims to carry like 25 pounds worth of bullshit daily.

It's an Andre de Villiers mid-tech Tac Butcher. Probably the finest folding knife I have ever owned. I've had it for about four or five years now and it's been awesome. I really like how de Villiers builds his blades. I'll still be carrying it as my primary EDC knife with the Penasong as a secondary/unique curiosity.

Dan Wesson Specialist. And it's a full Government sized 1911. It does have a light rail on the frame. I absolutely adore it. It's one of the best factory 1911s I've ever shot and rivals some custom 1911s I've fired, like Ed Browns or Les Baers.

Yeah, the EDC thing gets a little ridiculous. $300 titanium beads and $600 fidget spinners are as autistic as a shelf full of Funko Pops.

For urban EDC just need a lighter and a decent knife for the most part, although I do have a small light and a little Leatherman with pliers on my keys.

Yeah, I don't go for the crazy expensive boutique beads and superfluous shit like that. I do have a couple of knives with lanyards and beads, but I usually buy the beads separately and have never spent more than $30 on a bead, and quite a few of the lanyards I made myself. I actually only bought one lanyard that was pre-made when I bought my Zero Tolerance assisted flipper, because it was a Zero Tolerance lanyard and I got it for like $15 along with the knife and it came with a bead on it. The $30 beads I bought were these walnut sized titanium beads with a sandblasted flamed finish and I used them to make a lanyard/key-pull for my keyring to make getting my keys out of my pocket easier when I'm carrying and needed the beads to weigh down the part of the lanyard that hangs out of my pocket.

But, yeah, the price that people will pay for little beads and spinny tops and other crap is crazy. I mean, if they have the money and it's something they enjoy, then I won't hold it against them. I can't bring myself to care enough to judge someone for spending money they worked for on the things that make them happy, so long as its not at someone else's expense. For me, I'd rather put the money into things like my firearms, knives, gunleather, etc. I see those things as an investment.

Yeah, at the end if it works, it works.

I made a few lanyards but mostly for fixed blades with short handles, it helps when retrieving it. Made some wooden and antler beads too, ended up on various bushcraft tools. Got one on my Izula.

How many people bought this coffee, just because of the AR-15 branding, was probably over 9000.

Black Rifle Coffee is considered a huge joke to almost everyone except clueless gear queers and insta shills. It's not even good. I only know because a sample pack came with some gun shit I bought years ago.

Oh yeah, so follow up. Turns out the Shadow 1 doesn't actually have the firing pin roll pin. Less parts to break is always good.

Also, not surprised to find out BRC is overpriced garbage. I could never bring myself to pay that premium.

I don't even drink coffee, so Black Rifle Coffee can go choke on their own grounds. Fuck them. If I had the business smarts and money to create my own company and it wasn't a gun shop, then I'd probably start up a gourmet soft drink company for shooters. I'd call it "Gunslinger Soda" or something, and I would never do the kind of shit BRC is doing. I'd have flavors like "Commie Killer Cola", "2A-Ti Fruiti", "Shall Not Be Infringed Sarsaparilla", and things like that.
