This game is such a bad example. In her suit she's above 6 feet, outside of it somewhere around 5'10" and nearly 200lbs.

Why contain it? Let it spill into the classic games and series. Let the bad sequels and remakes pile up in the ET cartridge landfills. In the end, they'll beg us to make something good.

I would say for what she is she'd be proportionally large. I'm not even sure most of the depictions of her in the Zero Suit actually match her out-of-suit description. Athletic, 5'10", 198lbs, but the Zero Suit just kind of seems too small for her measurement data. 198 is a lot for women even when we're tall and it's clearly not fat with Samus' lifestyle.

I'm pretty sure the weight includes the armor since it's in the armor diagram where samus' weight shows up.

to be honest it's not like samus loses her ship, she's just really bad at parking and can't into fuel economy for some reason.
then again she's a bounty hunter not a space trucker.

It's without the suit, though apparently I was wrong, she is 6'3 without it too, not 5'10", but there's a lot of weird contradictory info. The official stats are 6'3 and 198lbs without her suit, and for some reason Other M has her looking totally different(Another reason we can just pretend that's not actually Samus and isn't a necessary game)

I'm pretty sure the weight's including the armor given how it's depicted in the older game stuff where the weight is listed. It also could just be bone density shit (the actual truth is likely something got fumbled somewhere)

Yeah I don't see how a companion would really work in a Metroid game so my immediate reaction was that he's probably just in one level or someone that turns up in story sections, so that's a possibility. NPCs are rare in Metroid and it's rarer that they survive the game.
But the real problem is how tone-deaf they are even showing us this shit. If he's actually handled well (or at least... not that bad) in-game then the best thing they could do is leave it as a surprise. Metroid fans were "Nintendo doesn't understand their own game"-pilled long before anyone else (besides maybe Star Fox fans lol) so nobody wants to be left with this Other Melvin shit to think about. Don't do this to us, we're too sad; Dread alone wasn't enough for us to trust you.

One of many reasons people didn't like that shit was because Samus wasn't treated with any reverence, and she was somehow like tinier than the bumblefuck feddies. She was bossed around by Adam, she was called "princess" by a nigger, and she would stand around in cutscenes super awkwardly and didn't have any menace or gravitas to her stance... Meanwhile in Prime 3 (before Retro lost some of their best people) everyone showed her respect, even a fleet admiral was nodding at her and acknowledging her deeds. He didn't worship at her feet and make it cringe, but he clearly understood she was a vital asset. He even gave her positive reinforcement, what a good dad. Far better than Adam.

Prime 3 even had a NPC escort mission, but they weren't fucking quippy and shut their mouths in combat, and the section ended before it outstayed its welcome. Imagine that.

Yes, let's bring that up again shall we. After 18 years since Prime 3 - the reboot of the franchise is coming to Switch 2 in 17 days and you cannot play the majority of the trilogy on modern consoles. You also cannot play Hunters, which introduced Sylux as a character, the supposed "main villain" of Prime 4. And since you cannot play Prime 3, you have no idea how the Phazon invasion begins or ends, you know nothing about Dark Samus, and you don't get to see the Sylux cliffhanger... FailFedForce is also absent, meaning you don't get to see that Sylux cliffhanger either... Truly retarded goytendo.
