Twitter is starting to require SMS/text messaging capable phone numbers for account validation. It happened to me when I made a throwaway one a while back just to see who was following some account that I was researching. I'd imagine that this is probably why Hirtes hasn't been as active there lately. Unless he has the money to buy a bunch of DIDs that are set up to forward any received SMSes to an arbitrary email address, I doubt we'll see him a-logging OPL on there too much these days (not that it's easy to tell due to so many other shitfarts doing it on every one of OPL's tweets).

I was pretty sure they rolled that out a few months ago and he was probably doing exactly this. He might have blown his savings on them and can't get any until he gets his tardbux or (lol probably not any time soon) an art commission of any kind.

Something's been bugging me about this for a while. Does anyone know how Hirtes got on his Chris obsession in the first place? I looked through the thread a bit, can't really tell.

Back in the day, Hirtes had *plenty* of crazy-ass obsessions, but the vast majority were people he felt he could get something from. Art, usually. While I'm sure he could've just decided to gain a 100% upside-free hateboner one day, like... How?

Interesting question. Not sure there's any concrete answer to be found, since it's not like we'd ever get a straight answer out of him... if he even understands his obsession himself.

At a guess, it's simply that he sees himself in Chris. Mentally deficient, jobless and on welfare, for many years friendless, widely mocked and derided. And yet for all of that, Chris has still been more successful, more people still hold some sort of genuine affection for him, he's actually moved ahead in a few tiny, marginal ways while Hirtes sits rotting in the exact same life he's had for decades. The mingling of projected self-hate and jealousy is probably almost literally driving him insane.

There was a thread on some dumb furry forum a while ago (posted as a screenshot here, but fucked if I can remember which page it is in this thread) where people were comparing him to CWC due to his antics at the time (commission chargebacks, threatening to report more successful artists to PayPal when they hadn't done anything wrong, etc.). It would have been around 2010. I guess that Hirtes just decided that because of people doing that, he was going to hate on CWC instead of making even the slightest attempt at self-improvement. If it sounds super :autism:, that's only because it is.

CWC is an easy target to use as a trollshield. He's a big fat doof that's done a lot of idiotic shit and everyone knows who he is. It seems like back in the day it was a lot more acceptable among certain segments of CWC-watchers to be an obsessive A-Log about it (before A-Log was a word of course) but it all changed when people started getting fed up with people like Anthony and Michael.

He was basically the Chris of the furries and it made him resent the comparisons.
