The decreased audio quality actually does a passable job at hiding his lisp. He should think about recording audio in lower quality for his future streams.

He could make them even better if he played music so you couldn't figure out what he was saying.

I think the Dick Show is hilarious and I love listening to it, but I felt deeply worried that I misjudged Dick Masterson when I heard Cernovich on his show rambling about his autistic "black pill" nonsense.

I guess he was having another periscope cryfest. wtf is with this homo devil app and it's hearts flying around? sad!

He can feel neurons growing when he goes to sleep? Bull-fucking-shit. I don't know what Mike thinks he's feeling but it isn't neurons forming, maybe he has lice.

But even if whatever new age pills he's taking is growing neurons, having new neural connections won't make you magically smarter. In fact, a healthy brain routinely prunes old connections. Recent studies suggest that autism is caused by the inability to prune those synapses. If so, then Mike Cernovich is literally taking autism pills.

He may be referring to neurogenesis, but its not a process that you can *feel* or actively experience and in general is promoted only by the lack of stress and maybe antidepressants.

And a healthy brain isn't just about removing old neuronal connections, in general a healthy brain has the ability to upregulate and downregulate neuronal connections to adapt to new conditions introduced to the nervous system (commonly used example is drug tolerance).

An unhealthy brain would either be the stagnation of this process or an overexcitation of it (among other things)

Yes, both processes occur in conjunction. But Mike is claiming his magic pills are "regrowing neurons". Our neurons gain specific connections that are reinforced by practicing particular patterns. Using chemicals to boost neuron growth and connections randomly doesn't make one smarter, since the connections formed aren't focused in any particular way. It would be like trying to be a better athlete by tasering yourself. Your muscles are stimulated and strengthened, but not in any coherent or organized way that makes them 'better' at a task.

He's also interfering with the down regulation part. Which as mentioned, has been linked to the 'tism.
