He is also under fire on another front. Texas Libertarian Party activist and former 2-time Waxahachie City Council candidate Joey Dauben has accused Akbar of endorsing voter fraud tactics on a conference call with one other political operative. Akbar is strongly denying the charges.​

I doubt any AF fanboys would agree to go public with anyone they viewed as non-friendly to their politics, like they'd never talk to some MSM journalist. I doubt to many right wing journalists really want to stir up that hornets nest and might worry they were being gay-opped by the IP2 crowd.

The first person willing to go public was Smiley. Smiley sounds like he was a big Milo fan which if true it makes sense why he would go to Milo now. (Esp if his claim of contacting Ali was actually in hopes of getting in touch with Milo in the first place.)

Now that Milo has reported on the story it's far more likely other victims will contact him first. If this story picks up stream in more outlets then any other accusers might start going to other people to give their stories. I'd think Milo is the only option for the moment but that will probably change.
