I play on a scicraft server and everyone is pretty stoked about the honey blocks for redstone contraptions.Alright guys, I'm just going to go ahead and Necro the thread once again to point out that the Minecraft 1.15 update (Now named the "Buzzy Bees Update") is nearing completion. They released a Pre-Release snapshot a few days ago. For those who aren't aware of what this update is about or what's being included allow me to explain:
This update is focused around improving the game's overall performance and fixing many of the bugs that exist in the game. Although, the update isn't entirely empty, the update also adds the new bee mob with several items relating to it and making several Quality of Life changes.
Aside from the performance and bug fixes, what this update will add is listed in the spoilers below:
- The new bee mob can be found flying around bees nest that can only be found in trees that generate in the flower forest, Plains and Sunflower plains Biomes.
- They will actively search for flowers and once they find one, they'll circle around it and get covered in pollen. They will proceed to take to their nest to create and store their honey. Although, they'll stop searching for flowers and return to their hive to rest once it's nighttime or when it's raining.
- In addition to them getting covered in pollen, they'll also drop pollen particles that can be used to pollinate your crops to speed up their growth, however they will only do this when they're covered in pollen. They'll clean themselves up after they make it to the nest.
- As mentioned before, the bees will store their honey in their nest. When a bee successfully takes their pollen covered bodies to the nest they'll raise the nest's "Honey Level" by 1. The nest has a total of five Honey Levels. Once the nest has reached it's Fifth Honey Level, you can harvest it for honey using a glass bottle (the nest would also look visibly different as well), but be careful as this will anger the bees.
- You can also harvest the nest for honeycombs by using shears, but much like harvesting honey, this will also anger the bees. Destroying the nest will also anger them.
- When the bees are angry, they'll charge towards you and sting you with their stinger once their close enough, inflicting you with the poison effect. This attack will, however, make the bee to lose it's stinger causing it to die a minute later.
- While harvesting from their nest does anger them, there is a work around for this. If you put a campfire under the bee's nest, you can safely harvest from their nest without angering them.
- There's also a cute Easter Egg where the bee will dance to the other bees in it's hive to let them know it found flowers.
- Bee hives and nests. It's a bit confusing at first, but to sum it up: Bee nests are the naturally occurring blocks you'll see bees using while the Bee Hives are the artificially made ones that the players can craft and use. Despite their visual difference, they both function the same. they can both produce honey and honeycombs that can be harvested using their respective items. You still need a campfire to safely harvest from the hives, though. Also, both the nest and hive can hold up to three bees at a time.
- Honey bottles are a new food that can obtained from bee hives and nests. In terms of food items, they're pretty decent (they restore six hunger points and 2.4 saturation). They even cure poison and can used to make sugar! They're also, used to make honey blocks, but I'll get to that later.
- Honeycombs are the secondary item you can obtain from the hives and nests using shears. Their used to make honeycomb blocks (the block itself is purely decorative) and bee hives.
- Honey blocks are the block that can be crafted from honey bottles. The block itself is very sticky causing all items and mobs to stay on the block even when pushed by a piston. In addition, you can also slide down the side of the block when you're falling down the side of it and it doesn't stick to slime blocks.
Yeah, that's because people wanted a way to have separate slime blocks seeing as slime blocks have a limit on pistons.I play on a scicraft server and everyone is pretty stoked about the honey blocks for redstone contraptions.

I've created the Magnum Opus of Minecraft skins, no skin will ever compare to Tommy Wiseau.
Sorry to hear that. If you ever feel like giving the game a try again. I'd be happy to reintroduce you to it.I have little to add to this thread except a bit of wistfulness. I played this game easily since, jesus, 2013? Ran two servers with different friends, drew up maps in paint, we had our own rules and everything, stupid kid stuff. I stopped in 2017. The game has changed so much I can't even log into my account and view my old worlds now. I hit the "forgot password" button, but I'm really apathetic about the whole thing. Last time I tried this bullshit they didn't even email me. I'd have to buy it all over again. to get in, and last time I tried it didn't even run very well on my computer.
Wasted years. Just about. I kept some screenshots, wrote down some notes and ideas the thing gave me for my actually useful and rewarding creative projects, but the rest might as well be gone.
I wonder how many abandoned Minecraft worlds and servers there are out there, just gone like that. To say nothing of intentionally deleted worlds. Whole environments and ecosystems just gone just like that.
I'm kind of glad I don't play this game or think about it much anymore, in retrospect.

Yeah, and it's showing some promise!1.16 beta finally came out? about fucking time.
I'm a fan of the SMP Revival Resource pack. It's one of those packs that stuck with me due to how long it's been around (basically I'm nostalgic for the pack). So do you all have any texture/resource packs you like to play Minecraft with? I sometimes play with a user updated version of the Painterly Pack.

Every time mojang introduced a new thing ive always hated it, then stopped playing for a few years before coming back and being dead mostly fine with said thing.
I did the same with sprint and hunger way back when, and i'll do the same thing with GIANT FUCKING BEES.
It's probably just the human aversion to change, either that or i'm a faggot, what about you lot, you like the stuff they've been adding, or would you prefer they stopped?
