Hardcore mode is for the bedrockers, if they do finally patch out all the random deaths like promised that will be quite the thing.
Yeah it doesn't sound like much, but they rarely do, and they've promised smaller and more frequent updates so....

I've heard rumors its gonna be a mob that they teased quite a while earlier (they teased concept art of it, dunno where to find it tho) where it'd play similarly to the warden "but with sight instead", Im not really sure what that means.

These fucking niggerlizards are not tameable. Whoever the smartass on the Alex's Mobs wiki that said they're tameable is, they're the biggest bullshitter on the planet. They are not. The Animal Dictionary is a bitch-ass liar too. I have tried right-clicking them with entire stacks of rotten flesh. It does nothing. I have tried dropping entire stacks of rotten flesh in front of them. It does nothing. They just kill me over and over while I try to feed them rotten flesh that I set up an entire fucking mob grinder to get, like a fucking idiot.
Fuck Komodo dragons. Total Komodo dragon death.

So, everything about the Pale Forest has leaked already.
This is the Pale Forest. It's an Overworld biome. Temperature value seems to be somewhere between 0.7-0.95 judging by the biomes surrounding it.
This is the Creaking. It's some sort of Groot monster, I guess. It drops a Creaking Heart when you kill it.
You can see the new log type in this shot too, next to the axe. Black bark, white interior.
And I think that's the Creaking Heart in action. Looks to be some sort of redstone component that I'll never use. The new planks are white.

Honestly at this point they should add the hexcode based coloring system that they use for leather armor and apply it to wood, concrete, terracotta, and pretty much any other colorable block. It would probably save on space since they already have the system for leather armor so it wouldn't be unwise to apply it to blocks, unless the codebase for even the leather armor is cluster fucked.

I'd hate to be the guy who's always pessimistic but due to all of the other recent updates I fear that this is going to get delayed to later updates, not deliver on all the features promised, and/or all the blocks and items added will either have no use or a use that is so incredibly niche it's essentially useless.

I don't doubt it, but I also think this update is going to be very light. Probably just the new biome, one mob, and the blocks, and that's it. I will be stunned if they manage to fuck that up.
Oh, and apparently they're going to finally implement bundles into the base game in this one...? Four fucking years for what modders could do in a week, and it's still inferior to every backpack mod out there.
In any case, the stream starts at 1:00 PM EST. My expectations are low; betting half of it will be dedicated to advertising the movie.

It sucks but at least you can now make your house look like Homestuck.
This and cherry blossoms/cherry wood are one of the few things that Nu-Mojang have done recently that I wholeheartedly approve of.

Wow, an update that actually looks interesting.
Nice, I was wondering when they would add an infection/invasive/damaged environment themed biome to the overworld. The Nether has the parts which are infested with weird end stuff and there's skulk underground, now there's this pale biome. I think it's very nice, even if three different types of dangerous evasive is a bit much, but I think it fits with the themes Mojang tries to put into the game about enviromentalism well.
Unlike the Dolphins, bears...etc mobs which do nothing.
