Alright the final biome video is out and I went ahead and edited it into my post. Now all there is to do now is to wait on MINECON and either vote for or see which one wins the vote.

Fucking chest boats should be a normal feature they just add in, it has nothing to do with swamps. Mountain is objectively the best one because it actually entails some change to the biome (like the name “biome vote” would suggest) instead of adding useless biome-specific mobs and foliage.

Sorry for the first post there. I would go ahead and edit it to be more than a quoting mistake, but I'm too lazy. So I'll just rewrite what I was going to say.

Going have to agree with you there. Though to be fair at the time that minecarts got their chest variant boats weren't "complete" at the time.

That's mostly because mountains are pretty empty content-wise (with the only thing unique about them being llamas). Also, what about the others didn't change the biomes?

I wouldn't be so quick to call them useless. The biome-specific mobs offer more life and variety to the game (and if the recently added mobs are any indication, they'll have unique interactions to their environment and have some drops that could be helpful to the player) and the foilage also can offer more building variety or even function as a source of a new food type.

Adding a new tree/cactus type does not significantly change the biome. However, the video suggests that there will actually be a new type of mountain biome added (or perhaps the existing one modified).

Personally I don’t really care about the recent animals they’ve added. It’s just more clutter that’s useless unless you’re building a zoo. Mojang’s done a decent job of giving them some unique characteristics, but at the end of the day they’re still pretty much just gimmicks - if they were gone, I can’t say I’d miss them (except the fish).

Understandable. Regardless, I'm looking forward to all these addition to these biomes.

Nether biomes is a much-needed change. My only gripe is that the blocky leaves on the nether trees look wierd. Wonder if they’re gonna stay that way, or if they’ll end up transparent like standard leaves.

Are Zombie Pigmen being completely replaced by Piglins? Or will they exist alongside them (presumably re-designed to look like a zombified Piglin)? I’d be fine with either, because the Zombie Pigmen has got to have one of the ugliest textures in the game.

Most likely the former, but the texture may change at some point. Although I don't mind the look of them. They're not your normal overworld trees after all.

You take that back! Seriously though, all the "Pigman" Mobs have been renamed to Piglins. It's stated on the website when they introduce the Piglins.

Also, Gar how do feel about the mountains winning the biomes vote?

Okay, so I’m gonna assume that they’re merely being ADDED while the zombie pigman will be altered into a zombie piglin.

Now I kind of hope they go back and re-do some of the older mobs to meet the current aesthetic. If these guys have ears, there’s no good reason for normal pigs to have them as well.

As for the mountains, I can only hope that the changes they come up with live up to my expectations - which is mostly just a newer, more extreme-looking snowy mountain biome that is actually dangerous to traverse.

I'm not sure how to feel about these green Nether forests. They look extremely out of place, even with the veiny dick trees.

The soul sand biome looks great though. I'm going to light up everything with blue fire.

There's no green variant. Only red and blue.
