I am just picturing a hungry Chris, with no money leftover from the tugboat, causing a second fire after blowing up multiple potatoes in the microwave. Hopefully he isn't lazy enough to eat it raw...Potato Saga: The Untold Story of Starch, Sacks, and Sonichu
thanks sir i knew it was something like thatThey (Bob and Chris) had gone out to eat and when they got back Barb had made some spaghetti. Because they were full and they didn't want to eat it at that moment, Barb threw a shit-fit and swore to never cook for them again.
That's awfully fucked up, was she agreeing with him or just trying to shut him up?One day Chris just decided Megan did not have the right to reject his advances, and Barb apparently agreed with him.
I would eat mashed potatoes and grilled chicken every goddamn day of my life, honeymoon be damned
Oh i can relate, slaving in the kitchen all day making Spaghetti and having those two condensating numbnuts coming home all full and contentThey (Bob and Chris) had gone out to eat and when they got back Barb had made some spaghetti. Here you go. It's the second to last paragraph under the Pampering of Chris section.Oh i can relate, slaving in the kitchen all day making Spaghetti and having those two condensating numbnuts coming home all full and contentSeriously though, could i have the source of this? Feel like i should reread some Christory.
Also: Mashed potatoes mixed with bacon = Instant Win! Kiwifarms told me what i will have for dinner today!
Don't feel too bad, there's so much material over the years it's easy to forget an incident or two. I've been following for five years now, and every now and then a thread comes along mentioning some long-established story that I had never even heard of before.Seriously though, could i have the source of this? Feel like i should reread some Christory.
Barn said something nasty about Megan when it came up in conversation. Chris latched onto it and decided she was the troll queen, despite that barn gave him no new information about Megan. Chris knew years ago that Megan complained to Snyder about Chris harassing her - at this point he just decided she shouldn't have had a choice, he thinks she owed him sex and she didn't have the right to refuse. That's awfully fucked up, was she agreeing with him or just trying to shut him up?

Actually I think we could blame that on Bob more than Barb. He always wanted Chris to live as normal a life as possible, consequences be damned, and that kind of knee jerk reaction to the suggestion of Chris going to a special needs school sounds like something he'd do. A few years later when Chris asks why he left Greene County school, Bob just tells him the staff there hated autistic kids and wanted to lock them away and boom, Greene County ConspiracySo Barb was the primary reason as to why Chris has decided that the whole trolling thing is Megan. Honestly I'm not surprised if she is behind the Greene county conspiracy as well.

I bet if the Chandler's had unlimited financial and legal resources they would constantly file frivolous lawsuits against anyone who displeased them.I forgot that Bob was the one who wanted to sue Greene County.

You banned my son from your own private property? Lawsuit for discrimination.
You refused to date my son because he was creepy and pushy? Lawsuit for mental distress.
You Changed the color of my beloved childhood hero's arms? Lawsuit for....UGH!
Whether this was the right decision or not is certainly very debatable.
Empirical evidence suggests that Chris's mainstreaming was a failure.
A lot of students with Autism and other disabilities, who received proper special education and support, have gone on to live independently, found jobs, and many have girlfriends and wives. Ironically, these are the people that Chris looks down on for being "slow in the mind". By any objective measure of success, they've done far better than Chris.
True. But lots of students with autism have been mainstreamed as well, and have gone on to success. Mainstreaming has its proponents, including among experts and people who work with students with disabilities on a regular basis.
In hindsight, it seems clear that mainstreaming did not work out for Chris. It is hard to imagine that he would have done worse if he had gone through an autism specific program, and there are tons of ways he could have done better. I just wonder if that may be a bit of 20-20 hindsight. I don't know if a well-meaning and well-informed person could have met a pre-teen Chris and concluded he might do as well or better in mainstreaming. But I do think that is a possibility.
Well, shitty parenting probably played a role as well. A lot of successful Autistic adults had parents who were actively involved with their education; parents who worked with their teachers to help develop their social and academic skills. The only thing Bob and Barb (Barb in particular) accomplished was to establish Chris's sense of victimhood, and paranoia (which Barb continues to feed).
During Chris's formative years, Bob and Barb left him with a babysitter while they went off boozing. This happened at a critical development period. Later, they simply left Chris alone in his room full of toys or, in Barb's case, dropped him off at Toys R Us or the Pokemon League, which functioned as a babysitting service.
So yeah, it's fair to say that it wasn't just mainstreaming that failed, it was a the perfect storm of shitty parenting and lack of specialized educational support that contributed to Chris being such an abject failure.
