I mean, it was about what I expected. The main focus of the video wasn't about Chris, it was about Sonic and the general fandom.

I see a lot of people shit on him because he didn't go too much in-depth. I mean, how would that benefit him? The video wasnt about the mindset of Chris, it was about Sonic. Adding in sagas or a lengthy analysis would be kinda off-topic. He mentioned Sonichu, and he mentioned the live quest. And while the love quest isn't exactly relevant, it does emphasise how autistic Chris is, thus emphasising Sonic autism.

The guy makes about 1 video a day, so putting a lot of effort into a Chris video wouldn't be beneficial for his channel. Why should he put so much time and effort into something that won't guarantee him views or money if it's not something guaranteed that he or his fans are interested? He'd just waste time.

Maybe I'm a bit too forgiving, but I don't think it's right of us to keep him in bad light just because he didn't go all that in-depth.

Exactly. If you just wanted to use Chris to make a point about the autistic fanbase of Sonic, all you'd need to do is discuss him (and all the other folks) with OC Sonic recolors and then talk about the Blarms War, mentioning his Facebook groups, his glitterbombing of Sega, his vandalization of Sonic Boom displays, and the pepper spray incident.

Going into the Love Quest and shecame4cwc and all the rest was just a pathetic (and dated) attempt to score cool guy points.

He's not worse because he's successful. But I don't think he's any better. He screams like an autist all the same. He just acts like a kid that yells shit to make people laugh. Except now he's trying to be edgy and it's even more annoying than before.

You can also consider Chris to be 'better' than PDP for the following reasons:

- Chris didn't rely on atrociously unfunny rape jokes, including those aimed towards juvenile characters in the games he played, unlike PDP.
- Chris didn't pay two Indian men to read out anti-semitic phrases in an effort to get that sweet sweet YouTube cash, accidentally allowing the mainstream media to deal a painful blow to YouTube as a result
- When faced with reasonable criticism and satirical videos related to his content, Chris didn't smugly boast about how he didn't care if people didn't like his content, they were still making him money.
- Chris may be our favourite lovable lolcow who's gotten into more than his fair share of mishaps over the years, but at least he doesn't go around continuously being a catalyst for the huge controversies that have hurt YouTubers across the board.

In reality, the thing which could result from this is a few kiddos joining the site, spamming JULAY or other Chris-related things without any context, and then getting quickly booted off the site.

You seem to think that we're some sort of cult that worships Chris. My biggest concern is that half the Youtube comments are gonna be "Why are you being transphobic Pewds?". Which isn't weenery per se, it's just general retardedness.

So yeah, in a contest between a 35-year old autistic man and a millionaire who frequently has to engage in hasty damage control thanks to him fucking up the same things over and over again, badly damaging the platform he's made his fame off in the process, I think it's pretty clear who's the better man.

I agree with these points, and could have probably written my post better - WSJ and the others did go to town on an otherwise minor example of internet edge, especially given how some newspapers had already been haranguing Google and YT to get rid of adverts on ISIS recruitment videos and bomb making tutorials - the "My Greatest Dream" incident was exactly what the aforementioned outlets needed to try and really dig their claws into YT, so much so that when they began pressuring about the incident, Google just decided the best thing to do would be to screw over everyone, rather than removing or barring monetisation on the specific offensive videos.

In hindsight, I agree with some of the other points here - It seems strange that people get so oddly defensive over people deciding to talk about Chris. At least here, there's the thought of children who don't do their research barging into the site to ween while not really knowing anything about Chris, but this site's ban and block function should work just fine.
