Sektor, Mah Boi, what have they done? I loved that red motherfucker because he embodied everything that Mortal Kombat was about. Brutal, ruthless, will kill anyone in his way to get what he wants, even family, and he's willing to fucking mutilate his own body and turn himself into a robot just so he can win.
Of all the people to Rule 63, they chose Sektor? Couldn't they just have Bi-Han pump Sareena considering that he's a fucking Chaos Demon now?
This, my friends, is peak Sektor.
We went from ''Sektor will brutally kill everyone who gets in his way, even his own dad, just so he can take control of the Lin Kuei and gain more power'' to ''Sektor wants to get her ass pounded by Bi-Han every night.''
From a cold-blooded murderer to a starstruck lover. It really is just adult novel-level romances with modern writers, isn't it? They took a guy who has no need of love or romance, no desire to have loved ones, no loyalty to family outside of what he can gain in terms of power and turned him into a woman who's starstruck over a vengeful, narrow-minded, narcissistic edgelord. Rule 63 him if you must, but at least preserve the original character and give it more to work with other than being the willing bitch of some narcissistic jobber. The old Sektor didn't suffer to be the subordinate of even his own father; why should the new Sektor make herself subordinate to someone who thinks with his balls instead of his brains?
If anything, a smart, female Sektor would be laughing at Bi-Han's suicidal charge into Chaosrealm, calling it a failed episode of male bravado. She would probably then use that incident as an excuse to take control of the Lin Kuei. She would make amends with Liu Kang and Mileena, not out of the kindness of her heart, but just so she can manipulate them easier. Once she spots Noob Saibot, she'd probably talk to Liu Kang and say that it's better if he dies, just so she can remain in full control of the Lin Kuei and turn them all into obedient cyborg soldiers.
The old Sektor would've left Bi-Han to rot in the temple and worked to gain more power for himself, secure in his position as leader of the Lin Kuei. He wouldn't try to rescue Bi-Han or anyone since he doesn't give a flying shit about anybody; he fucking murdered his own father to seize power in the first place, and he happily removed his old body as well as any ability to feel carnal urges or romantic love just for the sake of power. The Cyborg Lin Kuei are effectively eunuchs; they have no sex drive, no lust, no carnal urges, only killer instinct and the desire for power, and there was a certain purity in that regard. Sektor embraced that change willingly for the sake of power.
Nu-Sektor is basically Bi-Han's techno-waifu. They should've gone the extra mile and given us a romance scene between the two. Hey, if you're going this route, might as well go for the full Mass Effect experience and have them fuck. Have the last level of the story be Sektor fighting through the Temple of the Elements, then betraying and kicking the shit out of Quan Chi so she can rescue Bi-Han and go full cowgirl on him. End the DLC with a sex scene between the two lovers. You can even have a character moment where Sektor disrobes Bi-Han only to be shocked and horrified at how twisted and warped his body is. Then she brushes that aside and kisses him anyways, because she loves him no matter what.
