I do like how the new Tanya skin looks leagues better than the original, but also they made that garbage funk one because the only thing worth in brazil is seemly criminals (Kano cangaçeiro in Mk11), funk (Tanya funkeira in Mk1) and somehow they remember theres people outside of Rio (Kung Lao gaucho in mk11)

Personally I would do the multiverse thing by making only Liu Kang and Shang Tsung actually beating Kronica canonically, instead of open the door to even Mokap or Hsu-Hao beating her, with the alternates being from potential, but not "solid" timelines, which stop existing after a time, explaining how the giant armies just disapear.

Havik is from ST's timeline, his ending show that he would remain on the shadows to not suffer the same fate as Kronika, so its open for evil stuff being from that timeline, instead of everyone and their mother is a titan now.

Which is both hilarious and eye-rolling when you consider Tanya's motive and personality pre-MK1. E.i. Manipulative two-faced self-serving opportunist so I always saw the relationship between the two of them as Tanya just using Mileena like everyone around her did.

A base proof of NRS writers don't know what the fuck are they even doing, nor even actually reconsider the original story. Havik was a plain anarchy-loving freakshow to begin with, but when he was reintroduced to MK1, the DLC only made him even more unlikable. Another unexplained plothole by the writers, hampered by laziness to get emergency revenue through charging awfully pricey DLCs to get nostalgiabaits.

Worst thing here was the butterface of Tanya. It still wouldn't fix the game because of girlboss Cyrax and Sektor. The latter is voiced by the bog hag, which you already know from her track record. Combined with MK's bread and butter of gorefest, and Brazil's homicide rates; it makes the country doesn't look good, even if Brazil was already a shithole in certain cities.

MK Armageddon's menu theme never fails to unnerve me when listening to it for too long
I could rant all day honestly about how much the atmosphere and identity that made OG mortal kombat so great and special is just gone now, another case of throwing away something cool and special to chase the marvel capeshit crowd

MK11 was borderline sadistic and for me, the darkest MK got and when MK1 went for a more vibrant and goofy style i was fine with it. But sadly, we just got the most sanded down, milquetoast Version of everything. I recently had an evening with friends where we played locally and the silence after every pre-fight banter was deafening and you could really tell that MK1 just lacks any impact.

Ghostface works in DBD because the victims cant fight back, even if they are trained soldiers who faced way worse (I really like the fan made James Earl Cash video where he just kill one of the killers that is canonically just 3 teenagers), but in MK? At least Jason and Freddy got actual powers and/or are really resilient. Meanwhile even the fully human characters like pre MKX Johnny Cage at least got canon super strenght.

Rather have game characters again like the Doomslayer (which I never got why some people talk on "but he dont talk" so does Jason and the Alien, if you need a quirkly one liner before the match just get VEGA to talk for him) or the dude from Splatterhouse instead of random slashers.

While I absolutely agree in principle, I really want to see what Mokap’s New Era would look like. I want to pretend it’s a normal looking world that somehow has regular Hollywood-style explosions, action, and relationship drama as par for the course for everyone.

Either way, I prefer to see Mokap as a comedy relief character that functions like Shujinko, except he's a normal ol' motion capture artist that seems to be always see magic, explosion, bugs and otherworldly shit as special effects, VFX and props. He also sees everyone like if they're also an another mocap for the greenscreen. I wanted to make Mokap goofy to match with old MK's gore and goof kinda theme that NRS stripped away.
