Looks like Geras slimmed up a bit... and Liu Kang fatalities you by ripping you to pieces with a Black Hole.

I'm not gonna deny that these trailers are hype; but I'm sticking to my guns that I don't like the idea of Kameo only characters, or especially all these guest characters before the game is even out. The game could be great, but the business decisions are making me second guess shit.

It's the retardation of 11's storyline. They wrote themselves into a corner. But maybe, they shouldn't have gone so balls to the walls with the grand epics they are trying to do. Like wtf?

As shit as it was, the vanilla ending of 11 was sufficient for whatever the fuck was running through Boone's head. But then they had to make the Aftermath story; which is Shang Tsung causing trouble, and opens up one of two possible endings (one Liu Kang wins, the other Shang Tsung wins).

I'd hate to go this route, but I fear they're gonna go the Bioshock Infinite route of infinitely possible timelines and realities; but there are always constants (Shang Tsung being a schemer/corruptor). That's my prediction for the story, Boone wrote himself into a shit situation and is gonna make more mistakes trying to write himself out of it; and this isn't an insult of Boone being a retard (though I'm welcome to the argument he isn't), but time travel/manipulation is a very very very tough and delicate operation to pull off successfully... and no one is gonna walk away satisfied in one way or another.

Aftermath should've been part of the story, it's too well made to be DLC. I'm confident they had it planned, just not enough time to implement, or a business decision to sell us the true ending (probably the latter).

Unironically, my favorite part of Aftermath was finally getting my female purple ninja back.

I am fully convinced he is going to show up. The character has become recognizable for better or for worse. They give him a little TLC, slap him in the next character package with someone highly requested like they did with Bo rai cho in MKX

Agreed fully. I'm happy that Geras is back without the tits of Kronika on his head. Liu Kangs fatality is spectacular but it's modern AAA gaming in current year and I've been burnt one too many times

Aside from the ones that are already confirmed (like Kenshi, Li Mei, and Tanya), the ones I know are coming back are Havik, Reiko, Ashrah, and Nitara.

I've seen a bunch of others like Moloch and Drahmin mentioned in lines of dialogue but no indication of them being playable.

Bo' Rai Cho is referred to as Emperor in one line that I saw, but it may be just multiverse/inter-timeline shit.

I was talking to a friend about this and told him that Boon should just exercise some character rights and make the game he really wants to make; Netherealm is already under Warner Brothers, so find every character under the WB umbrella and make the violent movie mashup game you want to make. Don't need a grand story, just character being vicious and hurting each other.

I also think the last time I liked guest characters before Tekken 7 was Soul Calibur 2. Vader, Yoda, and Star Killer in SC4 was okay, but way out of left field, and light-saber + force is too wonky for the in game universe. Do a huge time jump to Tekken 7 and the Geese Howard trailer... yeah, I cheered, but Geese also fits in the universe. Don't feel any particular way about Noctis, but he's at least a videogame character; I don't watch TV or movies so Negan is a whatever to me.

Ashrah! That was the lady in white with the hat! I had forgotten Nitara existed tbh but I do remember that I liked the wings. Was so fixated on the really fucking bad characters and the ripoff roster.

NGL it felt so fucking random. It was like it came the fuck outta nowhere. Granted, it was Kotal's second game and he was never someone receiving development but it wasn't even alluded to in X or in the comics either I think. And then it's just sorta forgotten about in Aftermath. Wtf was the point of that even?

It's interesting that the tacked on love story for Johnny Cage and Sonya got far more development in MK 9 and X subsequently.

Speaking of Cage, I guess I figured out why he looks so fucking weird in MK12. His VA and face/mo-cap model is Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Van Damme is 62 so that doesn't translate that well to a much younger Cage.

I used to like Walking Dead but I was so dissapointed with Negan's apperance. He fit so fucking poorly. Sure, his stage theme was awesome but wtf.

I had just begun to play FFXV at the time but even I was eh on Noctis even if he was fun to play as. Now, Geese? Now Geese made me very happy.

Last time, I was that happy, it was Kratos in MK9. And then Link in the game cube version of SC 2.

That depends on how bad it is gonna be. There's no talking about Li Mei, Kitana or Mileena because they look fine. Tanya got a weird face, doing her face model quite dirty imo, and a horribly disproportionate body so naturally it was bound to stir up a lot of talk.

If they don't fuck Nitara up somehow, we can all be friends.

The concept art looks fine. It's a bit of a departure from the original design tho, with different hair and a bit more monster than pirate.

But looking at what the translation from concept art to the actual game did to Tanya, I don't have high hopes.

So evo is currently happening and people got to play test MK1. Apparently NRS ACTUALLY listen to people's grips about the game speed and fixed it. It now has dash cancelling or whatever the fuck you call it from MK9. At least it will be better gameplay than MK11.
