They never explained what causes Tarkot or what Mileena's fate is as queen or exile...
Liu Kang's timeline sucks, give the big hourglass back to Kronika, slope.
The storyline for the MK games seemed to take center stage once they released exclusively for home consoles. Rather than using the Konquest mode that was featured in Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon to advance the overall plot (and the gameplay varied between games), the story mode played out like an movie that lets the player participate in via the fights. The more I think about it, that is really boring for this entertainment medium. While Shaolin Monks was criticized for how some characters were depicted and it being non-canon with regards to the events of the first two games, at least having it be an action-adventure beat 'em up was an interesting format and replay value, especially if you did not unlock everything.
It was good when MK9 did it though, since fighting games as a whole were so barebones yet demanded the $60 premium like other genres did. Capcom put no effort into their games outside of the interests of the FGC no-lifes, who only wanted VS, arcade, and a practice mode. MK9 at the time of release felt like it had infinity+ more content by comparison.
A fighting game where the lore and story take priority can work, but that requires the story to be good, which MKX-12 most certainly haven't been.
But we live in an era where standards are fascism and mediocrity is praised, so we get these half-asses stories with more holes than swiss cheese and no resolution or substance.
And even then, I'd never call MK a game with much substance, but at least it was genuine in it's exploitation-film-like gore and style fueled by a horny nerd called Ed Boon. Today his tranny employees and DEI paymasters have nothing genuine about them or their intent.
Or Maximilian Dood to rate on his shit streams with his shit friends for their shit consoomer fans.
I can tolerate Max whenever his friends are not onstream, particularly Simmons. That fat tranny-chaser loves to spout his word as law and gets mad and demands Max's mods ban anyone who either challenges him or says something he doesn't like (like when they banned Daigo [yes, that Daigo] for a brief instant because he "mis-gendered" a tranny which sent Simmons into a rage and only calmed down once Max realized it was Daigo and made up some bullshit excuse for his tranny audience why a pleb gets the banhammer forever but Daigo has to be unbanned) He definitely has CP in his hard drive.
I wouldn't be surprised if he makes his millions off other games and stuff now, since he's shown what a good little boy he can be (on top of being Twitch popular); I'm also shocked he hasn't moved on from fighting games, despite being a multi-millionaire.
- He makes millions on millions. To the point he stopped using a consumer ISP and had an industrial-tier ISP add his home to their network, something reserved for hospitals and airports, all because no consumer ISP could deliver gigabit internet in his neighborhood. The dude has extremely high-tier internet and pays out the ass for it, yet he's admitted most of his donations cover the monthly costs. It would be literally cheaper to buy a second home with access to gigabit internet or a high-rise apartment downtown and stream from there, but he's so loaded he can just pay for a company to install industrial-tier infrastructure for his home instead.
- He has the ear of a lot of devs at Capcom and NRS to the point his ideas are often implemented in patches. He is fully onboard with the Islamification of NRS' characters and has suggested to Capcom to follow suit. His friends even more so and go so far as to call sexy women like Cammy or Chun-Li "outdated and harmful".
- He has major influence at EVO despite not being much more than a hype man for the event. He's also shit on Gootecks for the awful crime of voting for a politician Max doesn't like and applauded EVO and the FCG's decision to shun him.
- He mostly streams Capcom slop these days or whatever publishers pay him to promote for the evening. Outside of Street Fighter he's only really into Tekken. I guarantee you once the NRS checks stop coming after the MK1 DLC he'll stop caring or playing the game at all, just like he did with MK11. He doesn't care about any fighting game very much besides these. He stopped playing KoF XV, Guilty Gear, DBFZ, etc.
