I will say there were like a few improvements. Erron got upgraded substantially and Shang Tsung was delightfully smug. But Sonya was done fucking dirty. Goddamn, I can't fucking deal with Rhonda. And why is so much shit dedicated to the Blade-Cage drama anyway?

I'm more annoyed at Sindel's constant flip-flopping between good and evil - even if I will say she works best for me when she's this smug bitch queen. She's delightfully detestable.

I am similarly annoyed by her MK1 ending but that's mainly because they took that curious little detail about Ermac in his MK9 ending and fucking ran with it.

It's kinda annoying how intensely Ermac got squeezed into the Edenian hole. I think he worked best for me when he was an enigma or this plural consciousness, not the long-lost husband of Sindel or some shit. I can live with Jerrod being part of Ermac but I am over so much time dedicated to Jerrod at Ermac's expense.

Why are the writers to hellbent on pushing Jerrod? Who the fuck is he except Sindel's baby daddy?

They just went the "he was a kind ruler" route, and they pulled a Disney and off'd him before the main story starts. Sounds like they just needed a bullshit motivation for Kitana to do anything.

The concept art for her made her look awesome and what we got is so lame.

Thanks to @Nick Obre and the Tanya thing, I've gotten the habit of looking at concept art and comparing what we could have gotten to what we got when it comes to character design.

MK11 on the whole wasn't BAD. I mean, it wasn't really good, but it was miles better than MK1, and at least the gameplay loop was pretty okay. It gave us Robocop vs Terminator, and Robocop vs Spawn, so yeah. All in all, I'd personally give it about a 7.5. Mostly for bullshit story reasons, and the fact that some of the endings (Jax in particular) were really fucking stupid.

Nowadays NRS just goes to make male Shokans literal big muscle-brained retards instead of the other way around before MK9. Sheeva is still a strong independent girlboss that girlbosses, and that was it. Remember Goro? He used to fucking won 9 consecutive MK Tournaments and now he is just a fucking jobber filler brutes, along with Kintaro at the same time. Not even a single moment of victory at all, and flashbacks do not count for every defeat counts. It was like NRS’ MK titles tend to be a goldmine for jobbers to stay.

MK used to be a haven for gore, sexy fighting women and goofiness for three decades now, but is more significantly covered up and less than ordeal for the consumers. The DEI division of all western gamedev companies have intoxicated so many titles and the company itself to just make women into androgynous fat, diaper-wearing hideous tub of lard that self-proclaimed to be “true and honest women”, or just ugly women, and that was being said for a retard that used to play MK9 and grew to like the skin of most female fighters here.

I concur. It was not that bad, especially it has the things a person want. I wanted Fujin to return, as well as MK1995 skins back then. It does come true, so I gave it a pass; but not Ronda Rousey’s voice though. Still cannot get through why NRS making my ojisan and pretty boy into white dudes with long white hair wearing Jap uniforms. Many of the concepts for each fighters could have been good and make the game more better, but when they tried to pick the finalization concept, like that Tanya or Mileena for example, they picked the worst and uglify the former. Still hate the fucking nasty undercuts for Li Mei and Mileena.
But you know my avatar, and that skin is one of those skins I yearned for MK11 to implement in, but when it never really happened, I just let it be.

Has been a long time since I have touched MK or having straightforward opinions about it, since I recently got back to grinding for that rather sick Dark Raiden skin and play it the F2P way. The Havik set is fucking ugly, and I would never grind it.

The first three from the left are actually pretty interesting. If they got tweaked somewhat, it'd be a great design. Wouldn't fix her writing but it would be a start.

And the alt costumes are pretty dope.

We got the second from the right and IMO, it's the lamest. Looks like a Black Panther OC.

Really, I miss this so much. The last games have been so incredibly serious, it's slightly off-putting. And I enjoyed MK9s story despite that mainly due to some dumb moments like Elder Gods and needlessly specific rules on what does and does not count regarding the tournament's rules, Jax and Johnny fighting because of Sonia, Liu Kang's cringe flirting with Kitana and the many times Raiden says "I must consult the elder gods".

Got some "MK1 is shit" videos in my recommended that bring up different issues with both the gameplay and the way NRS handles the game as a product. And how Warner handles its franchises in general.

First video talks about the poor game design.

But also some stuff I didn't know about like fucking seasonal fatalities. Excuse me, what the fuck? If it wasn't obvious, I have not played MK1. I don't wanna give my up money for it even if it's on sale. I've seen too much to be even remotely curious.

Second video is prophetically depressing as it would appear that Warner is all about money-maxxing, going into depth about how insane the grifting is. Fatality packs? Really?

Apparently, they wanna double down on the grifting and make a push for mobile game / live service fuckery for the sake of more revenue and pleasing shareholders, using their IPs as carrots under the assumption that people will just turn into cash cows because according to Warner, console gaming is too volatile. Something that's attributed to the failure of Suicide Squad.

Right...I think we all know why the game sucks ass and why Warner's thinking is more flawed than the MK1 Switch port.

Anyway, the video suggests that this will possibly lead to a crash in the video game market....again.
