Most A-logged Characters In Fiction. - A surprisingly prevalent phenomenon.

IIRC he wanted to go to college. He's actually a pretty smart and well-spoken kid who finds the hate mail amusing. He's a lot like Tom Felton in that regard.
I've always been confused that people would send the actors of characters they don't like hate mail, as if they're the actual character or have any kind of influence over the writing.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the amount of hate Ron from Harry Potter used to get. It's rare now but back when Harry Potter was on-going the hate he would get from shippers was amazing.
I thought he was a fan favorite and tbh, he was the only one in the main 3 that ever felt like a realish person and not fanfiction-tier character writing to me.

It was mostly visible in fanfiction, there's tons that portray him as a villain so their ship looks good. I never really got how some people can care so much about shipping.
I'm gonna have to quote TVTropes here, but yeah. Ron became so vilified and hated in fanfiction(either so Hermonie could be with either of her "actual true luv for realzies" Harry or Draco) that it became its own Trope Namer: "Ron the Death Eater", the mirror trope to "Draco in Leather Pants", where Draco in fanfiction is portrayed as an innocent little woobie that just needs a true friend/love to free him from his tragic life of forced bigotry.

And I wish to god I was exaggerating.

Barney the Dinosaur
Navi (Ocarina of Time) - Fi is much worse and didn't get nearly the amount of kill art/videos and hate as Navi did.

Honorable mention for Ash Ketchum (Pokemon) - He's both the most white knighted and the most a-logged.

Jesus Christ yes Fi is SO much worse.

From what I remember, at least Navi gave you the choice to listen to her most of the time. Fi constantly interrupted gameplay and treated the player like an idiot. She didn't even have a fun personality or any sense of growth like any of the other helper characters. She was almost literally a robot.

Barney the Dinosaur has already been mentioned a few posts above mine but I want to mention how hated the entire franchise in the 90s to anyone above 4. In retrospect, it seemed a bit to extreme. Sure, Barney and friends were annoying as fuck but they were pretty harmless.
Raoul, from The Phantom of the Opera got (gets?) a crazy amount of hate after the 2004 movie came out. This is despite the fact that he is the sane one from his given love triangle, his rival being a stalker who has a bodycount during the musical because his victims were just inconvenient. Still, a ton of rabid teenage fans of the time would get pretty impassioned about how terrible he is.
A couple of years ago, I went to go see the musical for my birthday with my family. They were surprised to learn that I preferred Raoul over Erik. Yeah, Raoul was kinda a tool but he overall didn't seem like a bad guy (I could be forgetting something though) whereas Erik was a creep who would probably browse r/TheRedPill if he existed in modern times. I'm still confused on how he got fangirls (Even if Rami Karimloo, one of the more recent actors to play him, is handsome and has a nice voice).

Daisy Buchanan, the grandmama of character A-Logs.

Another good example. Daisy is pretty fucking pathetic but she's also kinda pitiful. She's certainly not likable but I'd say her racist and woman beating husband is worse.

Didn't that kid quit acting after Joffrey's death BECAUSE the character was so hated?
I heard he left acting because he didn't like the culture that surrounded it. He apparently has done humanitarian work and is supposedly a super nice guy in real life. The complete opposite of his character.

Agreed. Ron was my favorite character in HP growing up and still is. Not to say that Harry and Hermione weren't badly written characters (although Harry Potter isn't known for its masterful writing) but they were kinda hard to relate to. Harry was the "chosen one" and Hermione was very smart. Whereas Ron was somewhat of an Everyman and probably had the most realistic flaws out of the main three. He had his asshole moments due to his insecurity but overall he had a good heart. I get that everyone has different favorites but to this day, it still baffles me that anyone would a-log him, unless it had something to do with shipping.

I started watching Dragonball Super again, and man, Crunchyroll users really hate Chi-Chi.

I don't even watch Dragonball all that much (but deep down, I should...), but if there's one thing I remember, it's this - Chi-Chi is awesome and anyone who tells me otherwise can fuck right off, honestly.

If you ever want to see a good example of Barney a-logging, look no further than Jeremy Lee Goldson, aka @x86x2, aka the Barney Fag.

It's calmed down over the years, but Daisuke (Davis) Motomiya from Digimon got a lot of unwarranted hate at times just for being a spastic kid who "replaced" Tai as the gogglehead, and it doesn't help that the dub scriptwriters themselves didn't like Davis all that much. But I think majority of the hate in the fandom came from the T.K./Kari shippers, to be honest, since he was a "threat" to the ship.

But as much as I like Davis now, this scene is just fucking glorious.

Lol dear God is he ever. The shitstorm over him losing the Kalos League to Alain was the funniest shit to come from the fandom in years. (Alain was actually praised as a character in the spin-off Mega Evolution specials even though he's a boring Gary Stu. Then he got A-logged hard for beating Ash to the point I think some people took a look at Tobias from the Diamond and Pearl season and reevaluated what they thought of him.)

EDIT: But honestly, Tracey got more A-logging than Ash did back in the day. You couldn't get anywhere near a Pokémon community for years without seeing/hearing someone bashing the poor guy just simply for existing. I feel like most of the hate stemmed from Cori Falls, though, given her large influence in the fandom.

Laurel Lance from Arrow.. God what a painfully bad character, made worse by cringe-worthy acting from Katie Cassidy.

I think the whole fanbase was united in A-Logging her, until the producers gave up and replaced her with a villainous alternate universe version, played by the same actress. (:_(
