As a political scientist, this is definitely one of my favorite sets of leaks yet. Chris is a textbook case of a low information individual (as if we really needed confirmation for that).

Social science sperging aside, the gratuitous Spanish makes an appearance here. I wonder how long Chris kept on using Spanish in this way? Did he stop at some point in college?

I also like the teacher's "liberal? :)" comment. I wonder what Bob would have had to say about that.

Out of curiosity, what qualifies a person for that? I have an idea but I'd like to hear it from someone who studies that kind of thing.

I just have to point out, the Ford-Clinton review sheet is rife with errors. "Boris Yelstein," "Nelson Mandella," "Aparthied," "Operation Desert Strom." The essay question is totally bogus; it starts from the false assumption that Reagan wanted to "defend against the 'Evil Empire' at all costs." So Reagan never engaged in diplomacy? He was never a pragmatist? The "Evil Empire" speech in question wasn't some kind of policy declaration; it was given to a crowd of fawning evangelicals . I'm sperging here, but I think this is further evidence of how the educational system failed Chris. Why the fuck would Chris's teachers bother to correct his spelling when they couldn't spell themselves? (The fact that this is a mass-produced textbook worksheet is just no excuse.)

The overwhelming sense I'm getting from these high school docs is that Bob and Barb do not deserve all of the blame for producing Chris. Manchester High School was remarkably mediocre. It makes sense that a school which tolerated this kind of sloppiness would allow someone like Chris to just muddle through. You can argue that Borb would have put up massive resistance to any effort to give Chris a real education, but was such an effort ever contemplated? I think we need to ask whether or not the high school was complicit in the miseducation of Chris.

Edit: Giving credit to KosherDill for first pointing out these issues.

Low information? "Someone who does little to no research on issues before deciding how they feel about them" is probably the most simplistic way to phrase it.

Yeah, but Chris was the water-boy for the number one basketball team in the state in their class that year. They only lost two games all year. That has to more than make up for these somewhat obvious deficiencies in the curriculum, doesn't it? Priorities here people!

Reading the first page, I thought:

"Hey, this doesn't look so ba---"

"Why is he writing in Spanish"

"Oh god what"

"Now I smell burning toast where there is no toast physically present"

God damn it, Chris.

By the way, it's really disgraceful what poor-quality materials these teachers made for their students. Look how many spelling errors there are in the handout. I didn't know "Boris Yelstein" was Jewish. At least he had a first name, unlike Gorbachev and Khomeini.

EDIT: and did anyone else notice that he was in US Government 3, but English 1? In other words, it was his junior ("juinor") year, and he'd failed English twice already. How the hell did he graduate?
It's his period number, not his class number. He had first period English and third period US Government.

WHY?????????!!!!!!

Yeah, that's how I feel when I read your assignments too, Chris.

How much do you want to bet he actually screamed that in class and got scolded for it?

I do have to agree with the sentiments that MHS is partially to blame for mainsteaming Chris. At the very least, he should have been forced to do makeup work after school. It's not like he had anything to do, except maybe those times he needed to be at the Game Place (which I'm sure would have pissed him off to no end...)

The Aparthied is my favorite temple in Ancient Grecee.

I have a special kind of pain in my eyes whenever I try to read Chris exquisite cursive.
You can actually read that chicken scratch?

Jesus, hurpdurpmanguv, you are a better man than I as far as handwriting analysis. I got to the point where he started lapsing into Spanish and lost any ability to focus on what the letters meant.

He should have moved to the other side of the county to my neck of the woods and attended Thomas Dale, which is known as being a good school.

I have to agree that most of the material here seems really easy - even for high school-level civics. And I just can't get over Chris' thesis for his paper on Japan: "Now well [sic] see how the Japanese people were involved...". Fourth grade language arts-level writing there, Chris.
