NEW YORK (AP) — Multiple people were shot Tuesday morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York, the city fire department said.

Fire personnel responding to reports of smoke at the 36th Street station in the Sunset Park neighborhood found multiple people shot and undetonated devices, a New York City Fire Department spokesperson said.

According to a law enforcement source briefed on the investigation, preliminary information indicated a suspect was dressed in construction attire.

A photo from the scene showed people tending to bloodied passengers lying on the floor of the station.

Further details were not immediately available. New York City police said they were responding to reports of people wounded either by gunfire or an explosion.

Trains servicing that station were delayed during the morning rush hour.

Based on the tempo of the gunfire, I would guess that the shooter either pre selected his targets either before or while he was on the train. If he was randomly shooting I feel the cadence would be much more rapid.

The only unrealistic part about Demolition Man was that urban cops were paying attention to a black man committing crimes and not just letting him get away with it.
They do kinda do that in the future. They also use a black man as a weapon to terrorize polite society and target political enemies which is woke af.

so what counts as terrorism then
Well, really nobody knows you see.
Apparently not bombing government building if you’re Susan Rosenberg.
“In the absence of a single, universally-agreed definition of "terrorism," it is a matter of subjective determination as to whether the actions for which Rosenberg was convicted and imprisoned — possession of weapons and hundreds of pounds of explosives — should be described as acts of "domestic terrorism."
So I’ll go for ‘whatever we say it is.”

>be American
>get shot
It's New York City.
Yeah! It's NYC, there are no Americans left!

A photo of the perp? Or the shittiest home-screen photo ever?

For the kiwis playing at home, tying a tourniquet isn’t something you should do. It’s almost always better to apply direct pressure to the wound. It looks dramatic on tv and movies but doesn’t help with most wounds and has a high chance of causing harm when done incorrectly.
Plus arriving EMTs/Paramedics have actual tourniquets that they can ensure are applied properly (instead of a jacket sleeve and a stick if you know how to actually make a makeshift one). Plus, it's important for the trauma doctors to know the exact time it's applied.

Not entirely convinced this did target Asians specifically but I guess we'll see.
I mean it's not like it's that hard but It's a death sentence for the limb. They just didn't want first responders making that call and first responders don't want the legal liability so now they just wait for the Paramedic and if the patient bleeds out and go into shock before then... Oh well he's fucked I guess.

You should mostly never need to resort to a tourniquet in Brooklyn. EMS is so prevalent and well placed. Unless the patient is in some way pinned by debris and requires lengthy extrication.

I’m seeing some speculation that this may be a”Going Postal” type incident. some thoughts that it may have been an MTA worker. They are reporting things like the doors between the train cars were locked.
Wouldn't surprise me, honestly. Though it depends on how easy it is to get the uniforms/how much planning was involved, and until we know who did this it's very hard to tell a lot. Was it a guy who just got fired and had a uniform on hand and decided "fuck it"? Was it somebody who bought a uniform online for preparedness and anonymity and planned this shit out? Was it just knock off stuff that at a glance looked correct? All of that can change how premeditated this was.
