Apparently we got a Mark Waid reference in the newest episode.

It's other posters that nailed it for me. The more tomboyish look actually should do it for me, I have 0 problems with a short haired slimmer woman. The people posting helped me identify she looks like a girl, not a woman.
Hell, you could argue she looks like Luz from Owl House

The Owl House and it's consequences have been a disaster for western animation.

Is that actually a dude or a tomboy? If they made Superman a fag I hope this crashes and burns.

Actually, I hope it crashes and burns either way.

By the way... anyone who uses the word "lolz" in a character description needs to be shot in the head...
Yeah if it had said "4 teh epic lulz" it would have been based but this is just so quaint.

Finally I found my way back, just in time to say that damn fuck most YouTube vids about this are filled with weird pedo fucks wanting to fuck the Owl House brown bitch. Tbh if it wasn't for all the culture war bullshit going on I'd think better of nu-Lois Lane, although it asks the question of why she has to be Lois Lane and not someone else.

How many more tumblr toons like this until they stop
Sure, it may have started out with beanface goyslop and it has gotten worse since. Only time would tell as to when this shitty art style would ever stop. The mid-to-late 80s through the early-90s saw a sudden change of pace with the animation industry, so I'm predicting by mid-to-late of this decade, we could see a sudden resurgence and not deal with the same goyslop bullshit we have since early-2010s

Why does every cartoon look the same
Because it's an industry filled with incestuous "creatives" who all happened to have gone to the same schools, socialise in the same circles and work on the same shows or, perhaps worse, soulless corporate types who push ideas based on detached market knowledge and flawed assumptions about who their audience is, in the cases where they aren't just making shows to pump their ESG score for that sweet Blackrock money. They're the reason that all American animation has to either be beanmouth, pseudo-anime or a Rick & Morty clone unless it's made by one of very few animation people who have clout but aren't groupies of Alex Hirsch or Pendleton Ward.
it looks like if Avatar was made by fujoshi
It's the same studio as Legend of Korra, so that makes sense.
Ironically this Lois seems to be the least tomboyish one yet in terms of her actual personality, she just hits all the superficial beats and it has cartoon autists cooming themselves despite being nothing special.

I don't expect her to know this, but DC Comics never let Mark Waid write the main Superman comics; he's always been close (Kingdom Come, Justice League, World's Finest, and of course the Birthright mini-series which should count), but he's never been allowed to write Superman or Action Comics (the ones that started in the late '30s) for some BTS reason likely related to his infamous behavior. At one point he was going to begin writing Action Comics, then something happened BTS, and Waid left DC and began writing Irredeemable, in which a Superman analogue is a psychopath, featuring scenes of this character committing mass murder. It was very clear he was angry with DC and the comic was therapeutic.

So yeah, "Superman Comics Writer Mark Waid" is unintentionally a sore spot for him. A famous quote from then-DC President Dan DiDio was "You'll never get the keys to the family car," which spread throughout comic book fans in the 2010's. I wouldn't expect her to know anything about Superman comics though. I mean, look at this fucking show.

Waid gets too much credit for Kingdom Come, it was Alex Ross's idea, (Reverend McCay is literality Ross's father Reverend Clark Ross). Alex came up with the idea in 1993 when he was still doing Marvels. He originally wanted James Robinson to write it, but he turned it down. Editor Dan Raspler then brought Mark in (who didn't even want to do it at first). Mark did write a Kingdom Come sequel by himself, The Kingdom. It was dog shit.

That's another book I've heard Waid was known to scream about BTS. Martian Manhunter's role in the story was supposedly a big argument between the two, as Waid considers him iconic as a JL founder and Ross considers the Super Friends to be the most famous DC heroes.

Ross actually co-wrote and did a lot of art for Thy Kingdom Come in '05, which was a JSA story arc that was considered the true sequel to KC. Waid had no involvement in that. I really liked this version of Gog (one of the Old Gods who died to birth the New Gods; the story's use of the Biblical ambiguity whether Gog was a being or place is clever).

Waid is currently writing World's Finest, which I'm really enjoying (it's pretty much the best DC book, and features a larger DCU cast not just Clark and Bruce), and he's ignoring Thy Kingdom Come to write a new Magog origin (which seems to use the TKC Gog). It's just starting so it hasn't played out yet. TKC had a more pensive tone like the original KC, whereas this current storyline on WF is more action-oriented.

Actually, the current WF would make a great art style for the animated series. It's got the manga influence, but still dynamic and with details.

I wish that the only problem with the show was superman being a Softboy, this crap is just painfully unfunny

Jesus, how the fuck does the actual Saturday morning cartoon from the 90's come off as more mature and adult than a Superman cartoon on Adult Swim?!
