It was the reason I decided to watch an episode or two, and I ended up genuinely enjoying the show for other reasons.

What's funny is that the only reason I bothered watching clips of the show, was because it actually did a good job with Clark and Lois. These were also typically when no danger hair lesbians or other dieversity hires were on screen...

Best scene, not at all for the visuals but for what it got right about who Superman is. It's been a while since we got a non-edgy Superman.

That's at the end of a scene where he's fighting basic robot drones that for some reason are called OMACs, despite how OMACs are both not simple drones and not a Superman enemy. And after that we have the awful scene where Clark hiding his identity is treated as a mistake he's made rather than his secret he should feel free to reveal only when he's comfortable.

Nobody caring about the show means nobody using its discussion thread. Why do I even watch post-OTGW cartoons when it won't cure me of the paranoia I feel...

First two episodes of the new season just aired.

Both involve fighting the Suicide Squad, the first in the Kryptonian ship from last season's finale, and the second in a prison for Task Force X candidates.
As I'd been fearing, the show's decided to make Krypton into a race of galactic conquerors, because why would you actually try to understand the point of Krypton being the pinnacle of magnanimous human achievement and aspiration when we could intensify the awful, uncreative Invincible comparisons that will only get more "Boss Baby Vibes" by the minute. Jor-El explains their background to Clark, gives him a compass that'll lead to Kara, and then is sucked into another dimension to contain a Kryptonite meltdown or whatever, and Waller gets some Kryptonite out of the events.
After that Clark and Lois go freeing a bunch of prisoners from Waller, including Lois's dad, who she wants to have stay over at her house because why not have a useless and obnoxious character hanging around the good guys.
There's also several more DC character cameos in these two episodes - Hank Henshaw, Steel, Damage(?!?!), Atomic Skull, and the show finally admitting that "Alex" is Lex Luthor and having him become Waller's partner in crime.

Show is still pretty ugly to look at and Lois is still a bitch making light of her obnoxious tendencies like acting suicidal and being Little Miss Can't-Be-Wrong. They're also setting up Jimmy blowing away all his Nouveau Riche money over the course of the season.

I hate wokeshit as much as anyone, but honestly I think the anti-Woke/Phandom menance crowd is overreacting, or worse being lazy and juding a book by its cover. This is actually the most faitful, and respectful, animated adaptation of Superman since the DCAU.

It's a breath of fresh air to have the wholesome good guy Superman back, after what feel like an eternity.

They did make 2 villains nobody cared about gay, and had background lesbians, which is supermild even by pre-woke era standards of 90s non-kid media. This is far from being the worst thing ever. People like Phandom Menance grifter, It's a Gundam, trashed this show because he assumed it was woke shit only because the art style. But is painfully obvious he never watched a single episode, and he just trashed it for a quick buck.

One of the Main villains is a black woman, the main couple is straight , and the main chracter is a heroic white guy who is portrated as a positive role model. That's as far from woke as you can get in the current year from the usual suspects.

To be fair, given this has the She-Ra/The Owl House people working here, I do expect them to do something super woke like making supergirl a lesbian, trans Jimmy Olsen, or something equally egerious. And Comic purists will bitch about this not being 1:1 of the comics, But I personally don't mind them taking some liberties to keep things fresh.

As of season 1, even as someone that absolutely loathes wokeshit, I will dare to say this has been a great Superman cartoon so far.

Like I already said above, I'm not arguing that the show doesn't have fucking abysmal elements, I'm saying that when it comes to the only thing I'm glancing in this show's direction for (the clark/lois bits) it's pretty on point.

Superman saves Lois, Lois asks if he knew about the potential risks of doing that, and Superman of course didn't give a shit, he only cared about getting in the way of the lasers to save Lois' life. Very simple writing yes, but that's who (good) Superman is to me. He's not necessarily going to think about the danger to himself in the heat of the moment, he's going to try and save those he cares about.
