I fucking love how people keep saying how lucky SweetT got with smash balls and whatever the fuck else. Watching the first match you can see just how fucking lucky Cosmo got. Getting insanely good pokeballs and assist trophies, and even against SweetT, having healing items just fall onto you. I think he got a Maxim Tomato AND a fucking Fairy Bottle, and still got wrecked. The better play won, and I'm glad.

What were the chances of Narc venturing into public for PAX anyways?

Also items are not a free giveaway, you have to know how to properly use them too. Everything in this game is a skillshot and also mostly dodgeable or avoidable so "got more items" is not an excuse except on extreme cases. I watched almost all of the matches yesterday and I will agree with the casters that only one time the items felt unfair - and that is once out of a best-of-three so not too bad either with plenty of room to recover.

Of course you have an advantage with items but not to the point where luck is more important than skill.

Those "smash orbs" (or whatever) in particular are an element of play. You need to have timing and strategy of when to go for them. There are steals, punishment and even fake orbs involved. A lot of potential strategy.

There's a lot of luck involved in poker but it's not legally considered a game of chance. Smash has a lot less luck-based plays than poker, by a long shot (at least in the "low items" setting, as in this tournament).

Cosmo and SweetT were very closely matched. Anyone throwing luck into the debate is lessening them both.

Weapon items also make you unable to perform normal attacks on the ground while you're holding them, so they're not an insta-win button. Some characters rely on their tilts, jab or dashes more than others.

I doubt it, there was other videos of his stream where he emotionally bullied whoever says "yeah I'd let you hang out sometime Narci" into letting this soy goblin move in with them indefinitely rent-free because ugh, Narci does not take up that much room or that many resources and you have excess anyway so you should just give it to him.

I think Narco was just trying to spend a week/weekend with one viewer, but he wised up and rescinded the offer the moment it was ever taken seriously. His paypigs are tranny fetishists who only throw a few bunch Nacro's way because these losers wouldn't get personal attention otherwise.

He's still young. Pick something else than speed running that you don't have to be the best. Like a job. Find something in life worth meaning Cosmo. There is nothing for Narcissa here.

On that note, if Cosmo wants to make a living through gaming, he's getting pretty old. You don't see many competitive players his age for a reason. He might have relatively (:optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:) more success with making a living through speedrunning but I think these are his twilight years if he wants to compete on any e-sport.

Agree with everything else you said but if in this phrase you're talking about Smash tournaments, then items enabled seem to be the official format right now, at least when it comes to the Nintendo qualifiers.
