The best possible case scenario for him is he manages to attract a larger audience, despite not using Twitch or doing anything to promote the fact he's trying to be a streamer. Even if this miracle happens, I don't think he'd be able to retain even a small percentage of new viewership because of both his general attitude and the fact they'll quickly lose interest if he's not trying to be competitive. It becomes even less likely when you realize an established franchise like Smash already has some well known competitive players, so the majority of his potential audience likely already has their favorites and will be watching them.

Narcissa will never attract a larger audience and that's not just because of himself, but also because of the insufferable collection of social rejects, self-diagnosed PTSD sufferers and depressed tweens. Just try to enjoy the chat when people like RedProletariat ramble without end about how fucked up they are. Nobody who's not a confused depressed tweens wants to hang out in such a chat, especially not when there are literal fucktons of alternatives on better platforms available to watch.

Narcissa would need to entirely rid himself of the spirits he summoned, but thanks to closing the on-stream chat (I suspect he will do the same on YouTube when he's allowed to go back) and only allowing his asskissers on Discord to talk, that seems unlikely.

The concerning part is those "tweens" are in their early twenties and that's being generous. You can't really fault a 13 year old for being stupid and autistic, but these people should know better and were failed by their parents and peers.

Cosmo is pretty much completely faded into obscurity at this point. His streams get like 10 viewers max, he only allows discord chat now not even the stream.me audience. He must be surviving on credit and Patreon at this point. And that will slowly dry up as well. I know people are usually the most productive when they feel they reach rock bottom.... But with Cosmo Rock Bottom is more like a challenge to see how low the floor can go. He only starting gaining popularity in 2013 and transitioned at the tail end of 2015. Cosmo the train wreck legacy has overtaken Cosmo the speedrunner legacy.

I just realized this weirdo went to the same high school I did.

He seemed like a pretty chill, awkward but normal guy before he transitioned. I'm willing to bet there wasn't anything of note besides the awful hair cuts.

I'm still hoping Rapp comes back at somepoint and her thread will rise from the ashes. In regards to Cosmo, he really is his own worst enemy. One of the more interesting things to me about Cosmo is the fact that before he dived into the Narcissa hole, he really did have what he wanted. Even today, the dude is relatively e-famous in his online circles, and for good reasons, not just his freakouts. If he didn't have his breakdown, he'd have what he claims he wants now, his own community that's more or less dedicated to him. I don't think it would be particularly large, but I could see him being around the 600-800 average viewer range.

I don't think he'd be that large. One of the main things to remember that worked out really well for Cosmo is that he was a streamer before streaming was really a thing. There wasn't a huge swathe of streamers that you could go and find at the time, it was before Twitch (I think it was even still Justin.tv at the time) so part of the novelty of Cosmo was "I'm watching a guy on play games live via the internet".

These days there's a whole industry around streaming and the viewers have a lot more choice in who to watch then they did in Cosmo's heyday. There's way more speedrunners, running way more games, or people playing games in different challenge style runs then ever. Even if he wasn't Narscissa; I think he'd have a very hard time regaining an audience as Cosmo with the amount of time spent away from streaming.

Right now there are 180 people watching (with the top streamer having 25 of them) Ocarina of Time being streamed, even if he captured that entire audience (he wouldn't) there just isn't much there. Granted, 2:30 PM on Tuesday is a bad time to check stream stats ; but League of Legends has 111,000 viewers currently for a comparison sake, fortnite 200k.

Something you have to keep in mind is that Twitch streamers thrive on inertia: It took years for Cosmo (and later Narcissa) to lose his remaining viewership after beginning his slide into insanity, and the fact that he lost all of them may literally be unprecedented for a streamer with such a large, established viewership. The coup de grace was his ban from Twitch, where he maintained 200+ viewers in spite of having fully metamorphosed into a ghoul by then.

You also have to remember that speedrunning viewership is uniquely static because it's a stagnant niche. Most other speedrunners' viewer counts haven't meaningfully changed since Cosmo's downfall. The most notable and ironic exception is ZFG, an Ocarina of Time speedrunner (and former peer of Cosmo's) whose viewership doubled this year after maintaining 1k viewers for ages. (He actually just came online, so if you'd posted just now Twitch's OOT viewership would've been 12x higher.)

I don't think Narcissa could've sustained 600+ viewers, but low triple digits wouldn't been almost guaranteed had he never been banned from Twitch.

The most hilarious thing about this to me is that over the years so many people were like "rip cosmo" like it's a funeral, (because when it comes to troons and their deadnames and shit, it basically is) and all narco can do is spit and stutter.
In a way, Cosmo has already done himself in.

I just enjoy the thought that out of his 15-20 viewers there are at least two of three that are there specifically waiting on another spergout
Guaranteed the percentage of rubberneckers is higher than that. Does the bootleg twitch he streams on even count viewers who aren't signed in? I'd be shocked if it isn't at least 1:1 gawkers to tranny chasers. Autists hoping to talk sense into Cosmo don't count.

While I agree with you about Cosmo and his lack of potential audience even if he sorted his shit out, ZFG streams OoT and he regularly has around 3000 viewers when he does.

That's more to my point; Cosmo thrived (in my opinion) because there weren't that many streamers streaming anything. Even if he came back he wouldn't even be the most popular OoT streamer, or even a popular speedrunner much less one of the top 20 people on the platform. He'd be in or near the absolute bottom, underneath a quarter million other streamers.

I don't watch many streams but I'd have a hard time thinking anyone would leave ZFG's stream for Cosmo's, even if he went back to being Cosmo. Even if Cosmo from 2012 time travelled to present day and streamed on twitch.

So theres about 1 day left, and the game has unofficially been out for about 1.5 weeks, narcissa didn't get an early copy, hasn't pirated it, he must feel like when nintendo didnt give him a free early copy of zelda, entitled.

So how many viewers you think this schmuck will average per session? im guessing around 40 until the /v/ raids. then maybe 200 spikes once a week when that happens.
