On the topic of Nebula-ites hating the Jews, Jacob Geller released a Nebula video arguing that the Nuremberg Trials were a bad idea, 'cause the Nazis were just following orders, & *checks notes* punishing Nazis just encouraged Jews to become bloodthirsty & kill Palestinians? Uh....

As far as I'm aware Jacob Geller is Jewish himself but he strikes me as a person who spends too much in his head with his own thoughts rather than interacting with the world and people physically. He tends to over intellectualise everything and sometimes I feel that he's more trying to manufacture meaning in things to the point where the conclusion he reaches doesn't really benefit anyone. He's still great at speaking and editing in fairness.

I think the point he's trying to make with the video is that the sensationalism and mythology that was made out of the Nuremberg trials is a contributing factor to the ideology of violence that is seen in today's israel-palestine conflict. Though the Jews were always a vengeful sort I remember the case where immediately following the war a group of Jews in a displaced persons camp decided to conduct their own kristallnacht on the local township because a rumour was spread that two of Jewish camp guards were lynched during the night( they weren't they just decided to desert) leading to multiple homes and businesses being destroyed and multiple civilians being beaten within an inch of their lives.

Yeah I never really understood the criticism for von Braun in paperclip he wasn't ever implicated ik any war crime just more or less facilitating them. But in fairness the whole allied plan post war was essentially complete amnesty for any Nazi party members that weren't implicated in war crimes because the majority of Germany bureaucracy was made up of party members because you literally had to become a member to serve the state.

Compared to the way the Soviet's did which was a complete purge of party members and instituting their own guys the west seems to have faired alot better especially in the progressive minds.
