I'm still really surprised they don't actually use those polls as honeypots to find and root out wrongthinkers. The forum software certainly stores each vote and who cast it, and I'm pretty sure it can display that easily too.

Admittedly I'm not batshit insane like they are (I hope), but if I ruled a forum like that with an "iron fist" and was convinced I had to do all I could to ensure a "safe space" for my opinions and politics, honeypot polls would be my go-to for a goddamn weekly purge.

Don't really know where else to post this: Jason Schreier is leaving Kotaku.
Guess he did one last favour by posting the Grand Theft Auto article for them.


For whatever reason, people think this guy is a "good journalist" because he's leaked a few games. Frankly, it just goes to show how bad journalism is right now.

If "investigative journalism" is knowing some people who tell you about corporate drama, and then framing it in complete one-sided fashion to push unionism that you very much have a vested interest in, then of course Schreier is at the top of that hierarchy.

His worst offence in this manner, in my opinion, was the Randy Pitchford-Gearbox bonus fiasco.

Based off his reporting, a ton of YT pundits read the incendiary headline, a paragraph or 2, and started spreading patently false information, and buying into propaganda. AngryJoe probably being the worst example.

And of course, no one wants to look at the other side of the coin, which only requires actually reading the article, because it's Randy Pitchford.

LTG is a lolcow and is known for ragequitting on, going on extremely personal rants about, and otherwise being autistic to anybody who outplays him.

Awhile back he got in trouble with the disabled community after losing to BrolyLegs and ragequitting. BrolyLegs is a flipper baby who plays fighting games mostly by manipulating the controller with his face, and despite this is one of the best Street Fighter V players in the world. Lowtiergod lost one match to him during streamed online matchmaking and ragequit when the rematch started to go poorly, to which BrolyLegs responded by immediately tweeting his own recording of the match up to the moment of the ragequit, then tweeting an offer to be LTG’s mentor. LTG heard about this and set to ranting on stream and mocking BrolyLegs’s condition, which went about as well as you’d expect because the disabled community tend to respond in force to this kind of thing.

In general there’s a huge black presence in the fighting game community and sometimes you even see salt about some beloved Asian sperg losing to a black guy. I wonder if ResetERA will ever start advocating negro leagues so trans players can feel safe.

Yeah there was a black poster on Resetera who trashed his own basement and made his family feel unsafe. Fighting games know how to bring the animal out in the black community.

It's funny though, as Resetera claims the blacks are some angels by default because everything is Nazis and only whyte ppl do anything bad in the world. Only whyte ppl say mean words and laugh at unhinged trannies.

This is why when lolcows cross streams whoever is dunking on or upsetting Resetera wins by default.

Jason Schrier did write a few good articles and was by and large the only person on Kotaku that could be called anything close to a journalist. He was a total petulant shit on social media though. With him gone, the already sinking ship is even more doomed to failure so this is only a good thing.

Just need the same to happen to Polygon, Rock Paper Shotgun and the other sites next.
