I want to see this game fail, but you should understand that any sane company is going to be closely tracking both sales Cost of Goods Sold and optimizing how many employees are assigned to work on a project & reduce cloud spend accordingly.

Also I don't know what their geo distribution is but if it's heavily weighted to Seattle area employees the average cost per employee is going to be much higher. If they have a pile of jeets in Bangalore they could leverage that to make it much lower.

From what I can tell, the 800 number is all Washington State employees. Considering there's janitors and chefs and repairmen and whatever else in that mix, I'm happy to lowball.

As for cloud spend, they are no doubt already ramping down but I bet they rented a shitload more space than they needed initially considering how many players they wanted. I'd bet they rented enough room for 500k concurrent for at least the first month.

i actually have something nice to say about resetera based on something i saw from a search engine result

they have a thread for pokopia with the caption "Blob the Builder" and i think that's genuinely very funny

good job resetera, you did it!!

A few stray missiles have landed in GAF's Iran thread.

Deep Enigma is Mod Of War, which is why that post is included. You can see that GAF have their top soldiers patrolling the thread, with one of them hanging around the thread's showers.

The mods are scared shitless that Battaglia and Schreier will leave because even resetera's bugmen are calling them on their bullshit.

Resetera is posting his essay-length screed about how using turbo-z edits of yourself should be a crime or something (i'm not reading this shit).
Rest of the thread is not taking him serious and he starts having a random melty within 1 page of posts.

This discussion thread on ResetEra highlights concerns about Hardware Unboxed (HWUB) intermittently using AI-generated thumbnails for their YouTube videos over the past year. The original poster (OP) details a chronological timeline, providing examples and explaining why they believe specific thumbnails are AI-generated, citing uncanny facial features, unnatural textures, and inconsistencies in depicted hardware or clothing. The OP emphasizes that HWUB is a reputable source for hardware reviews and that this practice, if undisclosed, could be seen as a conflict of interest, especially given HWUB's stance on other tech-related issues like pricing and ethical consumerism. While some users agree that AI thumbnails are a growing concern and a potential 'slippery slope,' others view it as a low-priority issue compared to more significant AI applications. The thread also touches upon the OP's personal engagement with AI content and the broader debate surrounding AI in creative fields.
