Usually the argument for cases like this is that they need big names behind them or else they won't sell or have the same popularity right away. That and it's all they know.

Then you build up popularity by making interesting characters that happen to be minorities. No one wants to read about a gay guy who shouts he's gay every other minute, not even SJWs.

That doesn't give them the popularity and success of something like Legend of Zelda right out of the gate. That's the important part to them. "We need my idea of an adventure game about a group of gay black trannies need to be A-list, change your game so we can reap the legacy of the brand."

I think it's simpler than that. Most SJWs are just vindictive. I remember a while back there was an internet push (Neogaf included) to make James Bond a woman. The entire appeal of that character hinges on him being a suave man having sex with supermodels, bouncing through action set pieces to save the world as escapism for middle-aged men. Making 007 a woman misses the fucking point. They just want to claim 007 and Metroid and Zelda and Ghostbusters as their own.

Even then, they were still men. I don't like the idea of an established character suddenly changing sex or race for no reason (other than to pander to a vocal minority) when a new character could be made instead.

If they don't change established characters, they can't "take away" white characters from white players.

You know this is their true motivation because any time a minority character is either changed, diminished, or not properly highlighted, it's "erasure." Everything for these nuts is a zero sum game.

Holy fuck is that thread an embarrassment ..... there were still people denying it was terrorism after there were multiple reports of it being a nail bomb, after the police had detonated a controlled explosive on a suspicious article of clothing, and after UK and US official were calling it terrorism.

Seems to be par for the course for them, honestly. Muslims are at the top of their "oppressed minority" pyramid (alongside African Americans and trannies), so they'll purposely act aloof about a Muslim committing an act of terrorism, especially if they were one of the refugees Europe's taken in.

You can't have 3 groups at the top of a pyramid at the same time. That's not a pyramid.

I think it's far more simple. Cissexual white males are bad. Everyone else is good, unless they disagree, in which case they're bad too.

Slightly game-related aside to this awful event- Tom Philips from Eurogamer tweeted last night about how awful it was, and the only reply to his tweet was by this guy implying that if it was a terrorist attack, there would be some sort of white uprising against muslims and immigrants etc.

I look at this guy's profile and he's a full on racist, retweeting English Defence League, white power stuff etc, so I reply to him and call him out for hijacking a terrible event for far right political gain. Anyway, a few minutes later I try to find Tom Philip's original tweet and... he's blocked me. Like, a journalist from Eurogamer blocked me because I confronted someone else for being racist. If he was annoyed by the tweet notifications, he could have just muted me- the blocking implies he agrees with the Islamophobia being spewed by the racist guy.
