It's optimistic to think that there will be any mod announcement regarding bans for Smolettposting when there's a news story now about the guys who were paid by Smolett to attack him just so that he could claim victimhood. But I want to believe!

The SJW propaganda bent seems to either be embedded from the beginning, meaning it pulls resources from making the game good, or it’s slapped on late in development by a big studio trying to polish a turd. Since the category of people who don’t want to play shit games is much larger than the category of idiot that finds SJW messaging a sales pitch these games always seem to do badly. “The right” in this sense is fucking everyone who doesn’t want to play BFV and craters EAs stock. No wonder REEra sees Nazis everywhere.

I'm still laugh when people bringing up the obvious point about murder being okay because not only does it invalidate their reeing immediately, but they have no answer for it. Not even some kind of jargon filled buzzword soup. Their only answer is to ban.

Even their paper thin ban excuse of "whataboutism" doesn't hold up because they don't ban people from game threads for saying "but what about sexism?".

No, "dirty foreign oil" as in, Saudi Arabia is Canada's #2 source for imported oil. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia is divesting from Canada because the foreign minister criticised the Saudis for jailing and torturing feminist activists after murdering an journalist expat, and Canada just accepted refugee status of a Saudi girl who live-tweeted her escape from her royalty-connected abusive family while the Saudi embassy tried to confiscate her passport and lied that she wasn't a citizen (she feared for her life because she disavowed Islam). Why should Canada give Saudi Arabia money?

Saudi Arabia is basically villainously twirling its moustache right now, but resetera will still call it a racist dog-whistle, lo fuckin l.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on oil quality, but I do know that Canada's oil is good enough to be the USA's #1 import source. The pipelines (keystone xl and trans mountain) were meant to transport the crude oil to refineries elsewhere in Canada and the USA at reduced cost, as well as distribute already refined oil to other provinces so that they wouldn't have to import oil. The problem right now isn't that it's lower grade (which it is) but that it's so costly to extract and move, and environmental regulations (including carbon tax) on top of that are causing extra pressure on the industry to the point that it might be unviable to do at all. And that would mean a hit to the economy.

Ultimately, it's better to invest in the technology and infrastructure to extract and refine North American oil than enrich Middle Eastern countries that conduct state-sponsored terrorism and flagrantly abuse human rights. You'd think the liberal left would be on board for protecting the rights of LGBT and women but I guess that would mean criticising Muslims, so here we are.

It's mediocre, but they have spare capacity, which is rare.

The good oil is West Texas, Brent (an oilfield in the North Sea, iirc), and from one other source I can't remember offhand.

The US is good at refining heavy oil, and has the refineries to do it. Lots of useful stuff comes from it, but it's crazy expensive to build the infrastructure. That's why Maduro's doubly screwed in Venezuela with their sludgy gunk. Venezuelan oil has very little use right now unless it goes through the US.
