It's very good from what I understand, though there are issues with how the Switch version is optimized.

at the end all the stuff they complain about is turned into demon crystal just like Miriam. She's specifically designed to go from attractive to horrifying.

I remember the original kickstarter campaign said they went with a female main character because of that being more popular, but I think they'd have fewer complainers if they had only men in the game.

It's basically more SotN with quite a few additional perks. The only real downsides are the music not being quite as great, the graphics can be a little divisive and like Army Burger said avoid the switch version unless they manage to fix it.

It's basically Symphony of the Night but with a better difficulty curve and some mechanics from Aria/Dawn of Sorrow, less impressive music, and an art style that is (to me) absolutely awful. I'd recommend that you watch a bit of gameplay before you decide to buy it, because for me the graphics are making the game less fun to play.
