The final straw wasn't that though. A person I looked up to died, and a thread was made about it. In it, I was shocked that there was so many vitriol about him, and they were unwilling to discuss the good things he has done, or the positive impact he had on the world. I commented something like "Huh, so this is why this forum has a reputation." A few seconds later, someone asked me if I wanted to leave the forum and if I did, to just stay away. I felt insulted that they wanted me gone for such meaningless wrongthink, and openly too. From then on, I pretty much blew off ever going back there as a member of the community. I went there once or twice to talk to some people who don't show open hostility to wrong think but that's it. People who do show hostility to wrongthink and interact with me? They get meaningless dribble.

If you're asking for screenshots and usernames don't bother. I don't want to fight fire with fire, and I don't want them to suspect me and try to cancel me in other places I interact in. I was stupid enough to use a similar name in resetera to my usual username."

So I was kinda surprised about the length of the entire testimony, but there you have it. Resetera hates wrongthink and jokes so much they'll try and get you banned, or make you want to leave anyway.

All you need to do is watch their discord channels to see the gossip/drama and witchunts for wrong-think on the forums.

Mods banning people for criticism/onsite or offsite drama/metacommentary, whilst gossiping on discord about the same things they ban people for. It's a real-life circus run by incredibly unstable, sensitive and paranoid people.

Isamu Fukui has setup the tards highschool friends group, which means an authoritarian shithole that bans all dissent/differing opinions and runs on gossip/drama and purging anyone the group doesn't like. They've already culled many of the posters most people on the site like/enjoy debating with, but the banning rituals must continue every single day, so up next comes banning their own.

There's even been casualties in the Black Culture Thread. The group that was protected more than any other on NeoGAF, is now bleeding and leaving Resetera because the white troon circus overtook them on the oppression hierarchy

Why do you think you see "history of..." bans non-stop even if there is barely no "history"? It's to get rid of normies that speak sensible-think that upsets the friends circle that run Resetera. You can't have people who can control their emotions and debate sensibly on this site, as that really gets under the skin of the inmates who find it harder to just scream "NAZI! RACIST! BIGOT! TRANSPHOBE!".

The creation of this to see all their hypocrisy was one of the best things that happened in the great forum meme wars http://resetera.kiwifarms.net

All of this should be laughed at, don't get angry, but it is a great science experiment to document where the human race is going wrong. These people are rejects and should be remembered as so. Isamu Fukui might be enjoying some $, but he's tarnished his own reputation and will not be remembered kindly.

For a real circus explosion lets hope Resetera makes it to 2020. Whether you vote for Trump or not, or he wins or not, the drama on Resetera will be exhausting.

Due to the nature of a legit echochamber and the victimhood politics of our current generation, these people overinflate their numbers and have shrunk the Overton window to the extreme.

Even on a lolcow site like Kiwifarms it's clear there is far more normies here than just the basement dwelling manifesto shooters Resetera would claim. There was once a poll on KotakuInAction of all places for political allegiance and it biased in favor of being politically left/Democrat

The vast majority of people, even at developers and publishers, don't subscribe to or agree with Resetera madness. They just keep it to themselves or they backpeddle because the marketing departments are soo powerful these days and concerned with small, but vocal, Twitter mobs (aka MtF troons). Very few are brave enough to simply say fuck off to cancel-culture.

I think I respect people that keep things quiet and to themselves more than the fakes who speak their mind then backpeddle/grovel when Resetera comes screaming.

Gen Z are far more resistant to this bullshit.

The Ion Fury apology is just another testament to how gross, fat, and clumsy the infrastructure of video game companies are. I actually kind of miss back when publicity was "Here's a game. Buy game. Thank you."

The Devs are probably more than aware the apology will do nothing, but suits are out of touch and hold all the power. A sad state of affairs that will end someday. Hopefully before another ET-level cataclysm. Potential bias because boy do I hate Europoor and subscribe to the belief that the devs were pressured by the 3D Realms marketing division in Europe. I totally understand the devs and I'm still buying the game, but I sure pity them. I cant imagine being pinned down and having your spine ripped out for not obeying a bunch of provable lunatics.

Another one bites the dust.
Yeah, it's clearly the publisher that made them do it, and it sucks, but I just can't feel any emotion about it anymore. It's the same shit happening over and over and over and over again - people get "cancelled"/fired/forced to change shit, trannies remain unhappy because they're all mentally ill retards, the fan base becomes upset due to these changes, the company loses money (the gaming press might suck some dick in the process too, lest we forget about them).

Why does this keep happening? Why don't I give a shit anymore?

I can't answer to why it keeps happening since it's been shown to be a massively bad move every single time it's happened, yet companies continue to do it for some unfathomable reason, but the reason you don't give a shit anymore is precisely because it keeps happening. It never gets any better, so you numb yourself to it.

The fucked up thing about it is the "transphobia" was on the same tier as hating Yaniv (or better/wosrse depending on how this tier list works). But I guess it's still seen as totally evil to question how a baby can be trans.

At least they didn't give dosh to Trans Lifeline or Mermaids but fuck, this game ain't getting off my seed list anytime soon.

They're going to keep getting more extreme until they implode.

Imagine a scale of 0-10. 0 is normie and 10 is the highest lolcow level crazy. They banned all the 0s, at which point level 1 crazy became the new 0. I'm guessing that the forum is mostly banning level 5 or 6 crazies now, while still thinking they are banning 0s. If there isn't a NeoGaf level mod scandal, then by the time we get to level 8 crazies those that are level will be the kind of people who spend 16 hours a day on Twitter and camping wikipedia pages.

Not only that but I've been seeing a lot of people passing around download links, not solely as a "fuck you dev" protest but also as a "fuck censorship" protest. It helps that the game is under 100mb and is thus easy to share on free file hosting sites.
