When it comes to Resetera hates toward Death Stranding, I think you can add other elements in the mix :

- Death Stranding is a Playstation exclusive and Resetera is heavily Nintendo-biased. The forum is basically dead outside of Nintendo direct announcements.
- It's one of the most anticipated game of the decade, which makes them mad even further.

From what I saw, Nintendo butthurt fans fear the game will be the next Playstation success. You have to remember Resetera vanguard members predicted MHW would fail and Spider-man PS4 would be a niche game, they still haven't fully recovered from being that wrong. IIRC they also thought Days Gone would bomb (it didn't).

They think Death Stranding being underwhelming will help them with their Sony PTSD.

The problem is, Kojima has a lot of fault, but gameplay of the game he directed have always been on point. The team behind the game is the more or less the same that was behind MGSV (glorious gameplay) and Sony pushed TLOU2 release for Death Stranding, which is probably the biggest hint of Sony's confidence toward the title success.
