Western One Piece fans thought that Oda, another middle aged Japanese man who speaks Japanese, made the character Yamato transgender because the idiot localizers localized her calling herself by the pronoun "Boku" as "he/him" leading western twitter trannies to make all discourse around the character unnecessarily toxic and played mental gymnastics to justify why a character with massive tits would be male. Then Oda released her Vivre Card and they did even more mental gymnastics to go "gender isn't the same as sex!!", an argument that can only be made in english because they're the same in Japanese and in english too, before some idiots decided they were different.

She calls herself Kaido's son because she wants to imitate a male character by the name of Oden who she idolizes, it's a spin on the Warrior Princess/bokkuko trope that these idiots took and twisted despite Oda not being or thinking like a 19 year old twitter troon.

The localizers (or at least a fan-translator by the name of Artur, had the audacity to blame Oda for the "confusion" despite the misconception not being seen in the Japanese fanbase. Only in the western fanbase.

The only stories I can think of high profile Jap dev misconduct were Tomonobu Itagaki which actually ended up being proven false, turns out he was just cheating on his wife with a secretary. Still kinda fucked up but not illegal.

Other one was the guy who worked at NST and was in charge of Project HAMMER who was blatantly and openly racist towards non-jap employees. Nintendo shitcanned him.

Both are from over a decade ago. Meanwhile stories of leftist western devs break every other week.
