If you turn off your ad-blocker you can see the type of ad campaigns they get to run.

Full header with background for an immersive ad experience, as well as an auto-playing trailer feature both 'prime gaming' and New World, Amazon's brand new garbage MMO. Also features a frame ad on the left. Usually, if I remember right, there's an ad under the first post of every page but maybe there's an exclusive deal with Amazon atm to disable that, idk. It also needs to be stated before that maybe users, if they had ad blocker, whitelisted ResetERA out of pride and 'helping their community.' There was also ERA clear, which was $4 a month or $40 for the year for an ad-free experience.

Imagine being a troon on welfare, paying $40 a year so that a chink can live in Manhattan, and then he sells you out for $4.5 million because you're just that worthless to him.

$4.5 million doesn’t go very far when you have to share….it’s also really the minimum you need to have in the bank if you want to live off the interest income and have a lifestyle equal to a dual income professional households.

So it would probably be even funnier if the nest egg was distributed to Jannies. It would be a laughable amount that would hardly change lives, and mostly get wasted on funkopops consoomption and donations to millionaires (socialist “influencers”, Bernie (((Sanders))), non-profits run by Champaign socialists on trust funds)

I mean seriously. If the payout to mods was like $25k-$50k I’d probably use it to pay for new windows on the house, a down payment on my next car, and a nice vacation. All things I’d be doing anyways without financial pain except for opportunity cost of the cash. While nice, Not life changing at all.

But I'm still bewildered by Resetera being allegedly worth so much and I hope someone can explain it to me. At the time of writing this post here's Resetera's own active online stats.

Well this place isn't doing shabby either. A little smaller but that makes sense as Resetera is a far left forum where Kiwifarms is happy equal opportunity offender so it annoys both extremes.

Well why does Alexa.com rank Resetera #4038 in popularity? Why is it that when I look at Resetera gaming threads most posts I see are basic one sentence posts like most users are just using it as a goddamn chatroom or fucking Twitter? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. I'm gonna go full crazy conspiracy theorist and say I think there was a brilliant scam pulled and Cerium must have paid Indians to make up the majority of posts on Resetera to give the appearance that it's some amazing super active community. And this Moba site was dumb enough to get duped. I just can't believe a fucking forum can be worth 4 million dollars.

How many people actually use Resetera? 20000 unique users maybe? How can that possibly be worth so much?

It's hilarious that they think it's somehow an inconsistent position to think the forum should have paid mods, and at the same time think the current mods are complete shit and deserve nothing but contempt and mockery for getting so obviously taken advantage of by The Eternal Chink.

I would not value ResetEra at 4.5 million, maybe closer to 1 million (cost of hosting hardware, bandwidth, and the sole paid administrative staff). The userbase is too smart to like getting advertised to, and the engagement is literally less than reddit, where the revenue per user is fucking pennies. This was money wasted.

But it makes the jannies mad, so maybe its not all for naught.
