If A Thief Breaks Into Your Home, Is It Wrong To Shoot Them?

While a surprising number of answers are pretty reasonable, the insane ones are still strikingly insane.

"Just yell at them, tell them to leave!"

I have to wonder how many of the "No, don't shoot an intruder!" whiny fucks are single men, with no wife or children. If the consequence of inaction ends up being that you, your wife, or your child gets raped, does that change their opinion at all? I have to suspect that a fair number of these people don't have anyone they feel obligated to protect, and since they're hetero males they never suspect that sexual violence might be on the table.

Thanks to that thread though, for making me remember that I have a shotgun at home, but no shells in the house. I will try and buy some ammo in the next week or so.

I saw this thread, "just yell at them" is one of the most idiotic answer that proves just how sheltered and out of touch these retards are.

There's no gun where I live, but I sure as hell will stab or bludgeon the intruder with whatever weapon i have.

These kind of people are probably the ones who think that if you shout "no!", the rapist will stop raping.

Not acceptable, someone in the thread said you "can't just tell people not to crime" and others are saying that you should just assist the robber (not a "home invader" please) in taking your property.

If they ban any and all references to Harry Potter, I don't really see how they can keep the JK Rowling thread going. It's too dependent on mentioning and talking about all her books and characters. Crazy to think that they will have to have a year-round sticky post that says, "Yeah, don't mention this multi-billion dollar franchise or else you will get banned."

Vector played by their rules perfectly, and agreed with them 95%. It just goes to show you that there's really no point in playing by their rules at all. If you upset enough people, they will inevitably find some flimsy excuse to drop the banhammer.

They've already defended that thread (and similar ones before) as different because it's about marginalized people speaking truth against their oppressors.

I remember when Nancy Reagan saying "just say no" to drugs seemed like the dumbest thing I'd ever heard. And that even makes more sense because you literally do just have to say no to drugs. They're not going to take themselves.

They should just actually have a manifesto that tells you what opinions you're allowed to have. And then the members can just cut and paste parts of it at each other with no fear of being banned.

Or just a numbered list.

And then they can yell "45! 45!" "86!" "23!" at each other all day.

It makes me angry to think about how many of the posters on Resetera are also sponging off of government disability because they're fat and trans and never want to leave the house or do any work all while thinking they should still have a say on anything outside the four walls of their dungeons.

I always assumed that it was about saying no to friends or others offering you the drugs, but it was still dumb and pointless. The only thing that will happen if you spend an hour telling a group of teenagers to stay away from tobacco, alcohol, or drugs is that they'll want to seek them out to avoid becoming as lame as the idiots putting on the class.

If they really wanted kids off drugs they'd send them on a field trip to skid row and make them clean up the needles, shit, and other mess left by the zombies. Some of the little fuckers might even swear off caffeine after that.

This sounds great in theory, but it's perpetually 1984 over there and the manifesto and the opinions you'd be allowed to have would be ever-changing. We've always sent anyone caught yelling "23" straight to room 101!

They often are, though by no means always, Communists, at least in name only.

They obviously have studied neither Communism nor history, because if Communism was ever brought into wherever they lived, they would be the first to go. Back in the day, the Soviets thought of homosexuals as "deviants only possible under capitalism". Even if they weren't, some bureaucrat would do a cost-benefit analysis and quickly realize that keeping housebound trannies and hyper-fat people alive on the teat of government support is unsustainable and propose to either get them "help" or just eliminate them.

In any case, they would be required to do actual work, and those who don't work, if not killed outright, are sent to "reeducation camps".

Fuck, I don't believe in Communism and I'm still more Proletariat than most so-called Communists today.
