The Bore (used to be called Evilbore) used to be the closest thing to old school GAF but a lot of regulars over time left and got replaced by NeoGAF refugees who drink the SJW kool aid. I haven’t posted there in over five years but I lurk from time and time and it’s not a very interesting place to waste time in.
Edit: I decided to go back to The Bore for a bit and damn, that place is a wasteland. While not as awful as ResetEra, the triple reverse irony shitposting is rampant mixed in with left wing snark. That’s too bad.

Apparently some SNES centric communities like SNES Central are in on the dogpile, with SNES Central throwing out the idea of accuracy in favor of culturally relevant in 2020 translations. As for why the troons would dogpile the translation people, it's no shock. As for the guy who did the text translation, ResetEra and their allies in the retro gaming scene like HG101 and SNES Central got results. He locked his account before writing up a statement saying he is no longer going to translate games because of them. After all, his reasoning is "if one word can cause such a backlash, why bother".
So who did the stunning and brave trannies at ResetEra drive out of the scene? Why someone who actually translated games instead of sitting all day on Twitter and ResetEra whining about Joe Rogan and Trump. So way to go Era, you've managed to drive away people who want to translate games for you to consume because of one word.
As a little bonus, over on Twitter his followers are absolutely shitting on Era and the other clowns in the scene. See a common thing in the emulation scene was for translations to be stuck in development hell, such as what happened with Aeon Genesis. Him and DDStranslation actually translated SNES roms people had wanted for years, unlike any of the "gaming enthusiasts" on era who likely don't even know what the words "IDA Pro" mean.
