It's one thing to passive-aggressively avoid going out of your way for the comfort of an obnoxious inpatient who's being an asshole, but it's another to deliberately cause harm or inflict pain or discomfort on a patient because you disagree with their politics. I think that specific psychopath was just talking about a blood draw, but holy shit -- imagine if that same nurse was in charge in an OR or an ICU unit and knew you were a Trump supporter, and it was up to her to obtain and supply the right medicine at the right dose to give you via IV immediately to save your life in a crisis. How could you ever trust that person not to just straight up fucking kill you?

A person willing to do that isn't in healthcare because they care about helping people, and people like that scare the hell out of me. They're in it for something darker. It makes me trust healthcare providers less in general and reinforces my own habit of not discussing politics with anyone besides close family and my fellow shitlords on the Farms.
