I'm joking about this, of course, but they legitimately believe that Trump appointed GG supporters to cabinet positions. They are willingly misinformed, because the harder you over-react in their world, the more legit you are. It would be an absolute embarassment to anyone who possessed self-awareness, but in the ResetERA bubble, how much you can completely miss the point is seen as a strength.

The indoctrination thing is always weird to me, when I was a kid in the 90s and early aughts the US' history was heavily whitewashed in my classes.

Activision even came up with a decently clever conceit for including a they/them option, I thought -- in the creation process you get to select male, female, or classified. "My gender is on a need-to-know basis, and you don't need to know." Which is still kinda hokey, but credit to them for taking some trouble to make it fit in the context of the game.

And we see that it was a waste of time anyhow, because these people apparently have a vested interest in hating fun.
