Almost, but not quite. Hatred, Thrill Kill, Manhunt 2, and The Punisher received AO ratings for violence, with the latter two being edited down to M. The uncut Manhunt 2 was eventually released for PC download.

There was also one casino title rated AO because it featured gambling with real money. (By that standard, shouldn’t every game with loot boxes be AO?)

Thrill Kill had been granted an M rating with no cuts, but was cancelled when EA bought out Virgin Games USA. Manhunt 2 and The Punisher were both edited down to get M ratings, although a PC release of Manhunt 2 uncut was made available digitally only. Hatred was not released for consoles.

No console game has ever been released with an AO, as it violates the licensing standards for all three platform owners. Your ”correction” Is a mixture of incorrect and inaccurate statements, and adds nothing to what I said. Way to go!

*Except the bit about Thrill Kill being given an M, which is simply false according to the ESRB’s own site.

It's great when Islamic terrorism comes up on Resetera, they all fall over themselves to declare that Cyberpunk is a bigger threat.

Hmmm. Actually, serious speculation here. In the world of Cyberpunk 2077, are there cyber enhanced Islamists about? Because there are quite a lot of fairly devout Muslims who believe that because man is made in the image of God, any modification other than for medical purposes such as tatts, piercings, etc. is haram as it is defiling God's creation.

Then again, there's probably a compliant cleric someone who would give a fatwa that enhancements with the purpose of engaging in jihad are allowed. The 9/11 hijackers believed that if it was for the furtherance of martyrdom anything normally considered anathema in Islam was allowed, including drinking and hiring whores to blend in with the kuffar.
