New Earthworm Jim game made by the original team exclusive to Intellivision® Amico™ - Console that will never release gets a 5 second jogging animation

I dread the inevitable “bringing Doug TenNapel back for the new Earthworm Jim is problematic” articles.
Not only this is 100% guaranteed regardless of anything but whenever I remember those vile comments I start literally shaking in discomfort for hours.

Please make sure to send him hate to his personal recently active YouTube account comrades.

I am curious about the weird transition of 16bit generation game going to pre video game crash hardware and more importantly playing it on a uncomfortable keypad controller and disc.

For real: I rented the SNES version for a 3-4 day rental. Got to the underwater level where you're in that bubble craft. That was the big game ender and I think I had at least 3 gameovers. But I eventually did it. Beat the level. Beat the rest of the game. I was about 11 at the time. And now it's a game I try to play yearly. It's an all time classic of it's era.

I prefer the Genesis version now because I like the soundtrack on that version more and the secret level exclusive to the Genesis is fun and experimental in a good way.

Insert Epic Store joke here.

But seriously, I don't know how well the Amico is gonna do if this is the killer app, unless they're going for a really niche market. Which also begs the question of what a 90s property is doing on a console banking off the nostalgia of something from the 80s.

Fuck yeah, I miss ol' Jim. I'll definitely buy this whenever it inevitably is the only thing on this console worth porting to anything else.

Speaking of The Simpsons, any opinions on the cartoon?

It was actually pretty good. Sneaked in a good amount of adult jokes like all good kid cartoons did and still do. It was no masterpiece but it was fun. Probably one of the best game to cartoon translations and it didn't deserve to get just two seasons.

I think it was an okay show that suffered when compared to what else was being put out at the time. The Tick and Freakazoid! had a similar tone to Earthworm Jim and both were much, much better than it.

If you have an emulator or even a Sega CD system to burn the game file on the CD-R, check out the Earthworm Jim Special Edition. There is a extra level, CD quality and amusing endings especially if you play in practice difficulty.
