I never heard of Gnome before. Do people actually use this schizophrenic mish mash of code?

Wow this explains a lot about Gnome. Recently revisited it and I can’t believe how it has not innovated in any aspect and seems to just copy other environments just worse.
Back in the day there was a mass migration to it when Ubuntu dropped it for there own “Unity” environment which many people hated.
People hated gnome 3 but it was less radical then unity so people used it until other/better environments came in. It seems that during this push they onboarded some gender bending Cumbrians and seems they would rather waste time writing partisan terms of service rather than, you know...actually make a good product people want to use.
Should mention that this is also part of Red Hat who are all in “Trans girls in Tech” and Burning the human resources money.

Qt, unlike GTK (Gnome) is a traded company, seeking profit. So their pandering should be secondary to actually delivering a functional product and money.

I've no idea where this stuff comes from. The tech places I like to hang out online usually have extremely stringent but unstated policies: if you're not talking about the tech or potential ideas for the tech, you are off-topic and will get kicked if you keep it up. Keep the language professional. Fuck off with memes. All git commit messages should follow a stated template and all comments should stick to the fucking point.

Most code of conducts are written very methodically and “autistic“ because they have to be held up in a court of law.
This code of conduct couldn’t really be held up in a court of law. How do you prove someone was maliciously “Misgendering” What emoji’s can and can’t be considered “sexual“? What’s considered convent to receive electronic communications?

Oh, I agree that it lacks enforceable clarity, it just strikes me as written by an entity with so little comprehension of normal social conduct that they believe even emoji usage is a thing that actually needs to be explicitly regulated in order to create a stable environment for human interaction.
