Same reason that indie games have to be '8/16/whatever-bit' garbage. Same reason a lot of NFTs are paper doll randomizer stuff. Why do people seem to be under the impression that an NFT has to be pixel art garbage?
Basically like I understand as an artist it's really hard to make it out there but just do prints or stickers...
This is a hustle. Why do people seem to be under the impression that an NFT has to be pixel art garbage?
Pixel art can look fantastic when done right. A lot of SNES games have graphics that still hold up today, even. Here's an example of pixel art done right:Same reason that indie games have to be '8/16/whatever-bit' garbage. Same reason a lot of NFTs are paper doll randomizer stuff.
It's lazy, cheap, easy """art""".
It's a useless tat inoffensive (to sane people) pop culture mash-up! The streams are crossing!Funko has released a NFT digital figure for Bob Ross. Oh and based on the URL, it's implied this will be more than a one-and-done thing.

Just... what the fuck. What grave will they defile next?![]()
Funko said months ago they were going massively in on NFT collectables. Of all the people trying to get in, they make the most since because they're trend chasers. Doesn't make it any less awful.Funko has released a NFT digital figure for Bob Ross. Oh and based on the URL, it's implied this will be more than a one-and-done thing.

I mean they're allowed to go all in on NFT bullshit, but it's kinda a little disgusting they're defiling the grave of a man that specifically wrote a will to attempt to prevent stuff like this from happening. Bob Ross also was an avid lover of nature and I'm sure he would be against NFTs the second he heard how much electricity each one consumes to mint. It's one thing to make money off stupid little calendars, mugs, or even his paints. It's another to use his name for something that has very real environmental concerns.Funko said months ago they were going massively in on NFT collectables. Other than Yokai Watch, are there any creature collector franchises left? I don't think I've seen Digimon be relevant in over a decade. It's likely Pokemon could embrace it. They have shown they can embrace new tech in order to expand the franchise. Pokemon GO has been a money printer for the Pokemon Company like no other.Which creature collector franchise do you think will cash in ok the scam first? I can see pokemon earning billions on this nonsense.
If companies are so depraved they're willing to fuck with Bob Ross' legacy, then they're probably hiring think tanks to see what they can exploit.Other than Yokai Watch, are there any creature collector franchises left? If we expand the criteria out to trading cards, I'll put my bets on either Hearthstone or Magic the Gathering. MTG has been super questionable as of late and I could see Papa Hasbro trying to embrace NFTs in the pursuit of more money. Activision always seems to want max money for low effort, so NFTs would be a safe bet, too.
NFTs cost essentially zero electricity to "mint." Perhaps as much electricity as was consumed to make and store your KF post. I know there's a meme going around that every NFT created kills seventy pandas or whatever, but that makes no sense to anyone who has an understanding of the tech involved. Here's an earlier explanation I wrote which explains where the energy consumption in a proof-of-work blockchain comes from; the number and type of transactions in a block is inconsequential to all of that.Bob Ross also was an avid lover of nature and I'm sure he would be against NFTs the second he heard how much electricity each one consumes to mint.
What are you even talking about? They already earn billions just for rushing yearly releases.Which creature collector franchise do you think will cash in ok the scam first? I can see pokemon earning billions on this nonsense.
