Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Though, I DO enjoy the idea of them doing it to their boss. It's a bit stupid to do, but when someone you've been with for a long time who you're apart from a fair amount of the time does it, in a way it is kinda cute. They care and they're making an effort to communicate that. My partner and I actually had this exact same discussion last night and he said exactly the same thing as you have.
The "nice guys", who do it to describe their every action over text? It's cringey. Especially with people you don't know. They'll most likely do it to anyone (in an informal setting. I doubt they do it to teachers/their boss), especially women, despite having just met them. There's some people who are into that, granted. But usually those people are 14 and live on Deviantart.
*blushes, and looks nervous*
Umm...boss?
*starts fidgeting and wringing my hands*
I uh...I can't come into work tomorrow...
*widens my eyes as I realize what I just said; no turning back now*
Be...be...BECAUSEIMSICK!!
*hurriedly clasps my hands over my mouth as soon as I finish blurting out my reasoning for missing work tomorrow*
