I know a guy who believes that any woman who is not interested must be a lesbian. Not that he doesn't get his fair share of women anyway, but this kind of entitlement is probably much more pronounced in Nice Guys. I won't lie, women are pretty confusing and often send mixed signals, but this is a ridiculous overreaction. I guess Mommy told him he was handsome one too many times though.

It seems less like he truly wants to know whether his behavior was creepy and more like what he seeks is for others to tell him "Of course not. Why would you think that for one moment?"

Here's the thing though: whether random folks on the web believe that the way he acted was just fine and dandy doesn't matter. What matters is that the girl wasn't okay with it. And I'd say she's the one who gets to decide whether or not she put up with a classmate whose behavior was making her feel horribly uncomfortable.
