It's so odd. Right before you posted this I remembered them. This is the couple Kayla (or Nick? or both?) called unearthly attractive or something?

During a Nick and Kayla stream in February of 2020, Nick's father sent in a superchat about Robin and Larissa. These are Nick and Kayla's Canadian friends who Kayla describes as "literally the most attractive people [she] has ever met."

Nick's father chatted that R&L wanted tickets to a show in Kitchener. Robin was visiting with Nick's parents at the time.

Kayla repeatedly brings up how they aren't supposed to talk about them or their visit and that she "can't get into why this is fun, but it's so fun."

That's something that really concerns me. A while back Nick talked about how he wishes his parents were more sexually open around him. As well he's made comments that having a parent doing online pornography would actually be normal and comfortable for kids, with the kids knowing about it.

I'm not saying he's doing this, or is interested in this definitively. But what concerns me is if there's some kind of area of interest in 'open family' fetishism, which is an intersection of exhibitionism, incest and pedophilia fetishism. Open family fetishism is pretty self explanatory, it's essentially the concept that adults should be sexually open and have no boundaries on sexual behavior in the household, in some cases this magnifies in severity to the point of kids being made to watch sexual behavior, or participate often framed as "teaching them".

I'm not saying Nick is doing that at all, but with his statements outlined above and actions being looser than normal on boundaries between his sex life and children, it's something I worry is in the back of his mind.

This is such a deeply disturbing clip compilation. My parents did not swing (as far as I know) but hippie sex books were all over the home - all the positions. Grateful Dead concerts at country fairs were visited with topless women. Plenty of kids were left feral and allowed to wander naked while weed was everywhere. I was never harmed, but I know a few who were. The world has gotten a lot smarter since then. For Nick to contemplate this is... very problematic.

I'll admit, I'd never thought of that angle. Most parents are out at work all day and see far less of their kids than they'd wish. If you've got them harrassing you all day, every day, I can see how you might want a break.

It's a rather nuanced issue that depends on means, caregiver support, and breast feeding which Kayla did, for around 12 months for each kid. Nick has said that. That ties you to the baby for a very long time, constantly. In Kayla's case, that would be 5 years. (@Not Who You Think there is some evidence for this but it would take some digging.)

Millennial moms have invented the term of being "touched out" by their babies, and it's on point. It's a lot of work, mostly thankless, and physically draining. I sometimes wonder if Kayla was undone by it all. HOWEVER, that is not an excuse.... I'm just looking for reasons for how all this happened.

As kids get older, it's easier to take up to a week away from kids while ALSO doing family vacations. Most upper-middle-class Americans get 3-4 weeks vacation. Until 2020ish, Kayla and Nick seemed to follow that program. There are plenty of Rekieta family vacation pics (Legoland, the zoo, roller coaster pics, etc, etc.) to verify. Kayla was active on FB, giving upvotes and comments and... coping.
