I have heard this same thing from preschool and kindergarten teachers regarding adopted children who spent time in eastern european orphanages. They spent formative years essentially fighting a pack of other kids for food and comfort, and when they get to usa kindergarten they retain that survival instinct and end up being insanely difficult to deal with. I can see this background contributing to Niko's food obsession/addiction.

(Gonna get a bit spergy, I'm new and still learning this place.) In the 90s, Americans began adopting Russian and Ukrainian babies en masse. RU/UK were able to give unwanted children a loving home and ease some of the financial burden of caring for these kids on broke countries, Americans got white babies and could bypass the lengthy, extremely expensive adoption processes in the States. Win-win for everybody?

He was maintaining just under 300lbs before (if you believe the scales) and now he bulks up his video with random tangents and distractions like getting cameos or arguing with Orlin so you don't notice he isn't eating until the end of the video where he's only touched a couple of items.

Possibly. I haven't seen too many of his vids. But he definitely just picks around in the what ALR eats in a day video. Aside from that video and maybe one or two others I just can't recall, the only ones I've seen have been in the past two months or so, while on his gainer kick, and still, he orders way more than is humanly possible to eat, just spending money for the hell of it. But even in a relatively modest seafood boil (a couple months ago, I didn't watch the most recent one(s?)) he still doesn't finish it.

Oh, I just recalled the other video I saw before his gainer phase, the heart attack cafe one. That one, he does eat a shocking quantity.
