Nope. It's an emulation/transcoding layer. Compatibility isn't 100%, and frankly based on the graphs Nintendo put up ("It passes basic compatibility checks." ????), you probably shouldn't sell your Switch 1 if you own one on the basis of the Switch 2 running the older games.

64 feels unique enough, but Brawl feels like a Melee mod. In fact, didn't modders basically revert it back to Melee's physics and remove the tripping bullshit? I stand by them all being pretty iterative, basically big updates with a few new features.
Odyssey does oversaturate itself with moons, hopefully that's addressed in a sequel, but it's still great. The beach was the best level imo.

agreed, I like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong, and the new metroid looks good as well but what most people are honestly waiting for is a new 3d mario and zelda

Nintendo is out of their damned minds. I decided not to buy the Switch 2 unless the prices dropped. At this rate, I'm rapidly hitting the threshold of refusing, even if there was a price drop, entirely out of principle same as when Xbox revealed their 'always online' Xbox Ones. I think I'm going to be buying those new Fantasy Life and Everybody's Golf games on Steam instead of the Switch 1 now...
