After dealing with "controller drift" BS, difficult-to-remove batteries that swell, and seeing that S2 vidya may not even be physical copies, I do not think I'm getting S2.

So one can't have it near anything that can be damaged by magnets, like credit card strips. That's a good idea.

I don't think anyone uses the strips any longer. I can't remember the last time I swiped a card.

The drift was so annoying that i would not use first party joycons. Fuck them for making shitty joysticks.

Devs can put their game on their cart. 2077 will have the whole game and expansion pack on a cart. Most will just cheap out and make it a license.

Someone needs to show the screws. I bet they decided to use another new screw to seal the damn thing. Like this ever stopped anyone.

Why did Nintendo feel the need to build a new Joycon from the ground up? Ninteniggers, other companies have already made perfect joycons, you don't need to re-invent the fucking wheel. If you stopped doing autistic shit like that, maybe your console would cost less.

No Hall Effect joy-cons, no OLED screen (for the inevitable "mid gen refresh"), an overpriced subscription service, and digital games costing 80s bucks... Makes this console easily skippable. It sucks that Nintendo and Sony are so fucking greedy, while Microsoft continues to be clueless and woke. Shitty timeline.

I really want to hack my switch which is around XAW1 had it since 2017 but never really upgraded. Was listed as partially patched and it's patched after trying to hack it. I'm very upset because I'm tired of my vanilla switch. I don't have the sheckles for a modchip to be installed. I wish hacking the Switch was as easy as 3DS or Wii hacks. Just dump to the SD Card. There was also a secret internet browser that could've worked but no. It doesn't work that way.

nice exorbitantly priced system and games you got there Nintendo. It'd be a shame if I....

upgraded my PC so that it could easily emulate those exorbitantly priced games (and more besides) for pretty much the same cost that it'd take to buy a Switch 2. Yes, it'd be quite a shame. ;)
Better grab those 7700XT/7800XTs, because with the tariffs open and the cards discontinued, its gonna be open season.

Also pro-tip, get a good CPU for emulation. IIRC, CPUs are more important for emulation software than GPUs.

This is generally true. Although with the Switch you are better off with an Nvidia GPU whereas an AMD card has to work a little harder. The same can be said for any system that is being emulated that runs on an AMD APU, an AMD card is easier to work with, while the Nvidia has to work a little harder. Anything else that is older, the GPU is much less important because their architectures in general are not relevant.

So far the S2 looks like it will end up as a paperweight a week into its release.
Is there an actual good place that (will) aggregate the pre-order/order price gouges? (Kind of like with the GPU shortening)
