That better not be a faggot monkey, you guys are gonna see me on the news.
That is a tranny monkey, look at the color scheme, before this we had the tranny in paper mario remake. These butt sniffers have been pushing for this shit for years, and now they have invaded nintendo hq. So you can expect more of this shit.

7.6 / 32.5 OoT
23.4%

32.8 / 145 BotW
22.4%

You got me, that 1% difference has changed my opinion completely.

I guess you could argue Wii sports is the best game ever made though lol
A bunch of those tiny little bars on your graph represent one of the top ten best-selling games on their platform. It's basically a chart of the growth of the industry times the attach rate of first party games.

Explain to me what you're trying to get across with this nonsense statement.
I think (?) we're citing Metroid as an example of a notoriously underselling franchise. Though it's important to remember that when Nintendo says that a game "sells poorly" they mean "compared to Mario and Pokemon" and a bunch of their supposed bombs still left Mega Man, Castlevania etc eating dust.

Yeah, Metroid games were likely profitable considering their budgets and were merely less popular than other Nintendo games. Even outside that though, it's a dumb comparison. The best selling Metroid games for a long time were the original and Prime, both around 2.8 million. Dread is the best-selling so far having just cracked past the 3 million barrier. Most Zelda games were able to get over 3 million even without rereleases. Meanwhile, most Metroid games are hovering at some where between 1 and 2 million. Zero Mission, Other M, and the 3DS games didn't even sell a million copies, and as you can from the very chart he posted even most of the low-selling Zelda games sold double the low-selling Metroid games. The only Zelda to not break a million was Four Swords Adventures.

Zelda is absolutely on a different tier of sales and popularity from Metroid and always has been since the NES days. The only reasons to trying comparing the two like that is if you're saying shit at random to try and make the other side shut up, or you legit think that only games that sell like 20+ million copies count as successful and popular, in which case you must think video games as a whole were never really popular or close to mainstream until like the mid to late 2000s.

You mean they don't shove wokeness in your face in the other region's hiring pages?

It's almost like it's Nintendo of America being Nintendo of America again.
Seriously, why is it always the American branches that do this crap? It makes them look very unprofessional compared to the Japanese branch.

On the note of Zelda sales, have we really gotten to the point that the BOTW dislikers are trying to say that it being the best-selling in the series (and one of the best-selling games period) means absolutely nothing, purely due to the attach rate (the Switch being one of the best selling consoles ever should be noted) and budget (while one of the most expensive for Nintendo, isn’t all that much compared to the budgets seen for games made by Rockstar, or even Activision and EA)?

And heck, it more than made up for the budget with just how much it sold. Honestly, it’s stuff like this that makes me think that the hate for BOTW has gotten a bit out of hand.

Yes, now you’re getting it. TotK was also a flop since fans aren’t spending every waking moment talking about it two years after release. This and especially the Switch 2 thread have been slowly turning into /v/ over the last month.

And if you want to talk about attach rates, there was a brief period of time where BotW somehow had a greater than 100% attach rate, not even counting Wii U sales.

I'm not, I don't give a shit about the state Nintendo's bank account. I'm saying BotW being the best-selling in the series is irrelevant to it being shit. It's the BotW likers who are responding to the hate by going "B-but look at the numbers!" and making the conversation about sales and budgets and attach rates. All I take from that is that you only like BotW because it makes you part of a large fanbase, like you got in on an event or are part of a winning side, not because you have something good to say about actually playing it.

Don't worry, I'll keep the fuckers honest.

Sony and Microsoft screwing up in recent years doesn't surprise me too much. They're not primarily game companies, after all. Generally apathetic at the end of the day one way or another to gamers, we're just numbers on their graphs.

What Nintendo has pulled here with the Switch II and its marketing on the other hand just feels like a legitimate slap in the face.

Is that why? I thought it was because it was very late, glorified DLC for a bad Zelda game.

It's a decent game on its own, just not as a Zelda.
